    Is Dr Who over-rated?

I mean seriously, who watches this stuff?

I watched it one time, I nearly went into a coma.

Sorry, but I rather watch a piece of metal try to grow some branches.

    Hahahahahaha.

I honestly feel the same way. I tried to enjoy it but I guess I just don't get it. Not knocking it for people who like it though. More power to 'em.

I've completely fallen for the new shows. Some of the older ones may be a bit long, but I still enjoy the Tom Baker eps I've seen.

I used to like the old stuff but haven't gotten into the new version other than a couple of clips I've seen on You Tube...

Personally, I tried to watch an episode of Dr. Who once and couldn't get into it. That's just me. It has a huge following though and has been on forever. It has a track record longer than Star Trek, longer than Star Wars and a world wide following of intense fans. It may not be my thing, but it's certainly not over-rated.

Like most Americans, I fell into the Tom Baker ones during the Star Wars era. Kind of fell out of it after I went to college (Peter Davidson period), and never got back into it.

When the new show started out, I was blown over by the improved production values and Chris Eccleston's acting. Now I'm totally into Tennant, Torcchwood, and the Sarah Jane adventures (that the Tom Baker nostalgia). Best thing about the whole new Who phenomenon is that the family loves it too (though I had to stop the kids watching Torchwood).

The big thing about Who, though, is that it's now getting overexposed. I have a bad feeling it's about to jump the shark in the next year or so, primarily b/c the Dr. is regenerating again and Captain Jack is jumping ship.

He used to wait till the Who Fans that used to dress like Baker and he would step on the scarf's...inadvertantly choking the Who "Wannabe" by accident

I have to say that Dr. Who completely destroyed what used to be a great comic book convention that was the "Creation Conventions" here in NY. I could put up with the over exhuberant Trekkies...but the Dr. Who Fans just completely ticked me off.

                            Say it ain't so Tom!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I think there's something for almost everyone with Who. The hard part may be finding it. For me, some of it is totally unwatchable. If somebody starts with the wrong thing, I can easily see them being turned off and never looking at another episode. I love Eccleston, but you won't catch me dead dressing like any of them. Well, maybe a Dalek.

Sorry Steve, but it's true, and I wear it like a badge of honor...

I honestly think it was those unbearable fans at the shows that turned me off to Dr. Who...

...like Berto said, I can handle Trekkies, but a Dr. Who fanatic makes my blood boil...

Thanx Hector for startin' this thread...I used to be a pacifist...really
