In South America, they are simply number one.

Here's Queen playing in front of 250,000 Brazilian fans...yes...you read right...a quarter of a million live fans:

    Over-rated my butt.

I am also adding another classic Queen song - "I'm In Love With My Car" as originally sung by Roger Taylor just so show that Freddie was not the only vocalist in the group. This one should have been released as a single on it's own, instead of the B-side to Bohemian Rhapsody. Both from "A Night at the Opera".

YouTube - I'm In Love With My Car
...and lets not forget Brian May, a solid singer in his own right. Here he is singing Mercury's classic ballad, Love of my Life:

Beautiful haunting song, one of my all time favorites...and I love the audience always singing along this song...it's done everytime.

The only Queen member who didn't sing was bassist John Deacon, but like you know, he wrote some great stuff, including Another One Bites the Dust and...You Are My Best Friend.

Not only is Queen the greatest band ever, but had they starred in Doctor Who (best TV show ever), that would have been the greatest event ever....

PS: still waiting for someone with the audacity to post "are megos over-rated?"

Stick to the Lost in Space theme song.

    Queen though,
They seem to have fans that's really devoted to them ...
Kind of reminds me of KISS fans

It's just interesting how a group can get that kind of following.

Whether that makes them the best of the best, I dunno
Just because some people say they are.

    Bare in mind,

This thread did not start as an I HATE QUEEN thread --- I don't hate them.
You may not "hate" Queen Mike---but you DO question their potent success
enough to start a thread about it---and that can come across as a
significant, although lighter "shade of negative" in the same vein---apologies
if I have that pegged wrong---just an observation.

    Moving on...
I've got a few artists that are kinda like my "touchstones"

KISS is one of them. BEATLES, DAVID LEE ROTH, SPINAL TAP,
DOORS, (even KEVIN DUBROW/QR) and a few others...

QUEEN is NOT in my toppermost echelon---I just WISH
I could say that they WERE---it's just that I discovered them too late
in life to REALLY be immersed in 'em. I'm old and lazy these days!

However just like FLOYD, KINKS, THE WHO, STONES, etc. etc. I hold
QUEEN in the HIGHEST regard as far as bands go.

You could also say that I'm just a big fan of classic rock---and I think
that's what makes me rally around a band like QUEEN in a thread like this one.

Good point cause I feel the exact same way about KISS

To me it's the same thing.

I happen to LOVE 50s thru 70s "Classic Rock" and will NEVER NEVER complain

or in any other way taint it.

Its the last refuge of a person hellbent on downplaying a worthy classic song's worth.
I agree with you there bro,I'm the type who listens to the same songs over and over again

In fact there are songs I could put on repeat for hours and not get tired of them

    But that's just me

never heard of "I Want To Break Free" ? you should listen to that one Mike,it's one of my all time favorite songs

I see you've only heard a few, maybe you should listen to most of the songs and then decide if they are overrated or not

    Just a thought though
