Is Queen over-rated ?

Personally, I think they are VERY over-rated ...

I think I read somewhere England voted them best band ever --- even over Beatles.

Why ? ... because of about 5 pop songs ?

I like Queen, but I still think they are crazy over-rated.

Seems like the whole Queen Is The Best Band EVER thing started when Freddie died.

I believe a lot of their "success" came when Freddy died. I remember when they were around when he was alive and there was not as many "fans" as there is today.
Perhaps death has made Queen a bigger success then they are.

They are good in my book but as far as being the best band in the world.

I remember Queen being very popular in the mid-late 70's ..... But during the 80's they really went down-hill ...... had less fans .... and their albums and songs declined in popularity.

Queen isn't overrated in my book. I wouldn't vote them best band of all time but definitely in the top 5.

My kids do not like the Beatles but when they hear me playing some songs they always associate it with a commercial...pretty sad. I was playing Hello Goodbye a while back and they commented they said "Hey, that's the song on the Target commercial."

But Queen is iconic enough that even my kids recognize "We Will Rock You" even if they can't name the band.

I do think Queen at times gets too much credit ... but they had some awesome songs. For sure they are Rock Icons. Best ever no.
