Yeah Jersey Mikes is far and away the best national sub chain. Lots of fantastic sandwiches there.

I ended up having Jersey Mike's on Friday for lunch and it was good as usual.

If anyone finds themselves in St. Louis and are looking for a real good sandwich, this is the place to go. It's always busy but pretty amazing.

While out of state we stopped at a Jersey Mike in N.C. and tried the spicy cheese steak. It was rather good and close to the real thing. Found a few in Houston but haven't had the chance to stop by yet.Last edited by monitor_ep; Feb 19, '22, 8:27 PM.Visit my wiki site:

They did a remodel of the entire area a few years ago and the museum was revamped under it and it's a real nice place to visit. Way nicer now than when I was a kid.Comment

Loves me a good sammich. We heard about a place in Highland Park called Jeff's Table that had really good sandwiches. Placed the order and went to pick it up. Drove around the block a few times trying to find a place with that name that matched the address. No luck. Finally parked and walked into a Liquor Store with the address we were looking for. Saw "Jeff's Table".

 Threw down the Jeff's Special:

Hot, Hand-sliced Pastrami Reuben on Grilled Rye, Kraut, “Russian” Dressing, Melted Comté & Crisp Piavé Vecchio

If any of you maniacs are in the L.A. area, give this place a try:

I'm OK with Jersey Mike's. It's not great, but it's consistently good and usually better than the alternatives in central OH. On a similar note, their bread is ok but not great. I'm a Philly boy who grew up on Amoroso's.

The Super (provolone, ham, prosciuttini and cappacuolo) is a pretty solid Italian hoagie, though I remove the provolone which has no taste. I usually shave on some sharp provolone instead.

The Club (provolone, bacon, ham and turkey) is a winner. Bacon is their best menu item, followed by the roast beef. We get a club because the roast beef & provolone sub just doesn't have enough meat. We usually get Swiss on the club instead of provolone, but again I'll sub in my own Swiss if I have a chance.Comment

The club is exactly what I had on Friday. It's always pretty fresh tasting, which Subway just lacks terribly.
