I personally love tats and have loved them since I was a kid,I actually went to get one when I was 14 and the dude told me no,he said to come back when i was 18,I actually skipped school when I was 17 to go get it

I see what Mike is saying though,it's true..they are not for everyone.Just make sure you really want it first

Most people regret their first tat,not getting it but the actual design they picked

I've seen people with tattoos of the Imperial and Rebel insignias and Mandalorian crest skull several times. I went out with a hot chick who actually had the Rebel insignia tattooed about the size of a quarter in the small of her back--very cool, yet very geeky for a hottie.

So, If you don't want to look like a piece of Lucasfilm merchandising; want to be different (and if you don't mind telling people what it is, and them still not knowing what you're talking about) I'd say go with the Seal of Rassilon. It makes a nice looking tattoo design too.

seal of Rassilon from Doctor Who looks very girlie. I like that on a notebook or a t-shirt, but not on anybody's skin, just like all those other designs. Tatoo regret. Think long and hard before you do something rash and permanent. Many many years from now, those tatoos won't have the same pow on a 70 year old body...

Maybe by that time they will have thought of something not so painful for tatoo removal.

well seeing as i'm over 40 now I wont have long to wait to see it on a 70 year old body....lol...thanks for all the advice guys....Although the seal of Rassilon does look "girly" thats the one i'm leaning towards....It's different in the fact that it's not comman and Who has been in my life for nearly 40 years ....I love the show....will have a look at it in different colours.....put the black one up 'cos it was the clearest pic...lol. have a month to think it over...so i'll let you know if I get it done....

Though I have never seen an episode of Who, I like that one better. It looks better and it doesn't scream "I'm a geek" to anyone except other geeks who will appreciate it.

I'm with Mike. . .on the staying clean personally thing. . .my Mum an Dad never liked them etc too. But I am totally stoked for people who get one for something that is truely meaningful to them. . .an enduring part of their life. Your kids names for instance. . .and you meet the criteria Roger. . .looking at your opening statement in this thread. . .you are in the right place, seem to have the right reasons. . .and with the Seal. . .making a wise personal Choice.

That Bat head was a great choice too.

Thanks Dave......still undecided as to wether or not go for it....I think (as has been said by others) much the same way or at least did....my wife offered it as a birthday pressie this year ....so am thinking that alone is personal to me too....I think because I draw alot and paint myself I never wanted anything on my person that I was less than 100% happy with having....also like you my parents never approved when I was at an impressionable age....I want a clean design that is personal and i'd be 100% sure i'd like...that's why the 2 designs appealed to me...and out of the 2 i've loved Doctor Who longer than Star Wars....other than my family and friends these 2 things have been my constant companions....I like the circular design as I can put the kids names round it. Thxs for your input guys.

Do you really want to eventually be a 50-70 year old man with saggy skin and an ugly half faded tatoo ?

                  I'd say, stay clean

In todays world, the clean (non tat) people are the minority --- which is actually the new cool thing

Personally, I think you can get to the ripe-old-age of 50-70, and still have a lean and trim body. I'm 43 now, so 50 isn't exactly light years away.
And in that case, that tattoo will be as great as ever. And keep working those abs...

You could, of course, anticipate old age, and have a Jabba the Hutt design. That can sag all it wants. Or Droopy!

I'm not in favour of getting your whole body plastered with a dozen tats, but one nice clean design, with a personal meaning to you, is, to me at last, pretty cool. And for God's sake, pick a reputable artist, not your drunk brother-in-law.

So for now, signing off with this final hint:
