    1st tattoo?

Thinking of getting a tattoo at long last for my birthday...have settled on 2 designs...
    first up...the imperial insignia

or this...the seal of Rassilon from Doctor Who

    what do you think?

Don't the Mandolorians/Fett have an insignia?

      Maybe that's an option too.

      Just curious.

you know you are right huedell

The traditional Mandalorian crest, frequently mistaken for a Bantha Skull, bears a striking resemblance to the skull of a male mythosaur. But in truth, the symbol was actually adopted in reverence to a legendary Mandalorian combat-training master.

Those look pretty cool--and I had a feeling anything
that had to do with Fett would be cool loking---he just "has it"

Thanks for digging up those pics.

Hey---maybe your love of Fett might have you interested in one of those
          for a tattoo?

Or is the Imperial one much more appetizing because its more familliar
          than the Fett/Mandalore stuff?

Snake Plissken had a Cobra tattoo on his stomach, and the tail went all to way down to his...snake-like body part.
Get the whole tattoo, and I'll be mightily impressed...

PS: I have a dragon tattoo waiting for me for a very long time now, but my Mom warned me she'd have a fit if I ever got it...
She's 75, so I don't want that on my conscience...

Too symetrical and uniform for my tastes. That's design wise and
if that's what one is looking for then that's the obvious choice.

"Message wise" what the Imperial one symbolizes is ALSO
more uniform---not as much a "bucking the system" type symbol
as a Bounty Hunter would sport

Personally that's why I'd consider the Fett or Mandalore ones
                  over the Imperial one

If one prefers something more familliar to themselves or any other fans
and the Imperial one fits the bill---then of course, again, that's the choice

Actually, I wouldn't get any of them ........

Before you get a tat ... give it some serious thought ......

Do you really want to eventually be a 50-70 year old man with saggy skin and an ugly half faded tatoo ?

                    I'd say, stay clean

In todays world, the clean (non tat) people are the minority --- which is actually the new cool thing

Was thinking the circular designon upper arm and the mandalore one on my forearm....I love the imperial design.....but also love the Rassilon seal......its kinda celtic looking and I love the idea that it would only be recognisable to other Who fans.

Such advice might be more appropriate for a more all-inclusive
                        tat thread.

There even WAS one recently and I didn't comment.

Admittedly, I feel the same way as you Mike---but criticizing this
tattoo stuff is a slippery slope.

Altho' you may have more elbow room here cause its his first tattoo.

Other than that--once these guys get started---
they are SERIOUS about their ink---and---well---you know

On that note bo8a---I apologize for taking you offtopic in the first place
as you were just choosing between the two you originally posted!

the imperial sign is on one of my shortlists also, well ill get both rebel and imperial actually, one on each arm to go with my darth vadar and emperor

to be honest for a 1st tattoo its not too big nothing to adventurous so thats a good thing, you wont be in the chair long, its a pretty much simple design but its needed to be done by a very tidy toosit because of the circles and style

some folks dont like tattos but i would never let anyone sway my mind once i decided i was going to have lots of tatts that was it, ill be a tattood 65-70 year old... along with multi millions of others

life is too short to worry mate, get it done and have a fun time doing it

I'm just saying that popping a person's perfect skin cherry might not be for everyone ....

To be honest, back in the early 80's I seriously considered getting a tat ......

It was going to be an American Eagle ... looked really cool ........

My girlfriend at the time talked me out of it ...... She said "why do you want to mark up your body ?"

                            To please her .... I didn't get it ......

Today, she's long gone --- haven't heard from her in over 15 years ... but I still remember what she said .......

To this day, i'm so glad I didn't get it --- or any tat

They're just not for everyone ... and I thought Roger deserves an opposing point of view.

I had simillar advice from my dad.

                              I still don't know where I stand except for that I haven't
seen a reason enough to get one....but I'll never rule it out.

                              Life makes you wrinkly---bald---fat---

Personally, I was in a minor facial disfiguring accident---

So, you know, because of THAT in some ways, consciously
altering your body makes a bit of sense.

                              Either way---sounds exciting Bo8a!

                              Enjoy whatever decision you make!
