Wow ----that guy should write for ROLLING STONE

Thanks for the excerpt from the review Bat.

Nothing against you Bat---or the others that enjoyed that review's tone personally,
but I hope I like the movie more than the review....sounds like he's making a list of
pre-emptive strike excuses...or at the very least being over-defensive for who knows
    what reason.

Maybe he's just a comicbook "fanatic"

I don't He's making any excuse's. I've read other reviews that say..."You don't even notice the length of the Movie...because You're to interested & involved in the Story, to realize it's 2 1/2 hrs. long."

Thanks for the info---if that's true then it's a positive sign in the
OTHER direction of the RS review---

Actually, I've always guessed the second in the Nolan series would
be one of the best superhero movies ever--as the first one had to work
hard at crowbarring the legend to get it tightly into (the talented) Nolan's
vision of BATMAN---and this new one should be a LOT smoother
of a ride for us "dopey short-attention spanned" guys (wink wink).

Seriously, though... that RS reviewer was really pushing what I thought
was a poor sell for what he obviously thought was a great movie.
Then again, that was just an excerpt, so maybe the rest of the
          review balanced it out.

Either way---thanks for the insight (twice over) Bat.
(I'm too lazy to go to RS and read a whole review
and don't really like too many quasi-spoilers anyways.)

Non-spoiler observations from the RS review:

"Striking out from his Batman origin story, Nolan cuts through to a deeper dimension. Huh? Wha? How can a conflicted guy in a bat suit and a villain with a cracked, painted-on clown smile speak to the essentials of the human condition? Just hang on for a shock to the system."

"Bale is electrifying as a fallibly human crusader at war with his own conscience."

"I can only speak superlatives of Ledger, who is mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker. Miles from Jack Nicholson's broadly funny take on the role in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman, Ledger takes the role to the shadows, where even what's comic is hardly a relief."

"It's enough to marvel at the way Nolan — a world-class filmmaker, be it Memento, Insomnia or The Prestige — brings pop escapism whisper-close to enduring art."

"The haunting and visionary Dark Knight soars on the wings of untamed imagination. It's full of surprises you don't see coming. And just try to get it out of your dreams."

Thanks for the DARK KNIGHT RS REVIEW quotes Vort---hey I forgot Nolan made
Memento ---probably one of my least favorite movies I've ever watched all the
way thru--but the fact he made Insomnia---that's really cool Insomnia---
                ---I loved that movie actually.

I'm happy to admit that I don't have the attention span--I'm not the type
that believes I owe something to the filmmaker, instead I believe they
have to impress ME---go figure!--and, frankly, if I thought Memento was
remotely good we COULD have a flame war---unfortunately I thought it was
so useless I've forgotten most of it....and can't argue about it

Yeah, the gyst of the interview seems to be that the reviewer, Peter Travers, who usually does not like superhero movies, cannot believe how good TDK is!

Looks like there are several movie clips on youtube now. About 10 of them avg. a minute long.
