Actually it is Little Edgar, the kid who grew up in Hollywood and who's family took him to see movies and go to flea markets to buy bootleg items.

I guess I should mention that the Roosevelt Drive In would close the drive in part but continued the Roosevelt Flea Market part well into the 90's. I frequented the flea market way more than the theater when they were both open in the 80s. Ultimately, the mall-adjacent land was sold and became a Target.

We had the Key Drive-In here in Lebanon.I saw a bunch of movie there back in the 80s it's a Wal-Mart now. The last movie I saw there was Batman in 1989.

Sadly it really is. Last time I went by there was a few months ago. Pretty sure they have gutted the old theatre. If not, it needs to be. It was barely hanging in there when I ran it.

We had a drive-in here right outside our town. We went a few times, but it must have been when I was very, VERY young, because I don't remember which movies we saw. We still have a drive-in at the next town up. It's been showing a lot of classics, but with half-attendance in practice, it fills up 2 hours before the movies start. So far nothing they've shown has made me want to waste two hours waiting for a movie, but I'm glad they are still able to operate.

Went to our local drive-in regularly during the late 70s and early 80s.
Some of the movies I remember seeing there are:
Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, Jaws & Jaws 2 double bill, Orca, Smokey and the Bandit, Flash Gordon, Battlestar Galactica.
Loved every visit there.

Gosh I loved this list. Made me smile.

My very first movie experience was at The Richmond Drive In in Richmond, KY ... Planet of the Apes. Remember seeing Godzilla Vs Megalon there too.

Kingman Drive-In baby - sometimes legally, sometimes not. Last one I remember seeing there is Young Frankenstein.





It was in bike distance from my house, and I would ride there early mornings and collect aluminum cans for at least a couple of years before that got old.

Yes. Took the girls to see Moana the Blue Fox Drive-In Theater. They loved it. Although the drive is far for us since we have to take a ferry to the island to get there (Oak Harbor, WA).

had fun there as a kid; had too much fun there as a teen.
Here in central MO, we currently have a local drive in that is pretty cool to go and watch shows at. They had a pretty booming business over the summer.

One of my favorite kid memories of drive in was watching Jason and the Argonauts from the back window of the car while the rest of the family watched Buck Rogers in the 21st century. That drive in had three different screens and I noticed the skeletons fighting Jason and was hooked even tho the scrappy tin speaker was blaring space adventure sound effects. I seem to recall it did not make that much of a difference.
