Notice to ebay sellers who only ship to USA

Just read this thread on the ebay USA forums .....

eBay Forums: So hereis the email I get from ebay ...

You can state in your auction --- I WILL ONLY SHIP TO USA ....
A buyer from another country can bid and win your auction ......
If you do not comply to the buyers demands, they can give you a negative for not shipping to them ...

In some cases, we can remove Feedback, but only if the comment meets the
requirements for removal under our Feedback Abuse, Withdrawal & Removal
policy. We've reviewed the Feedback that you asked about and determined
that it doesn't meet the removal requirement as outlined in the policy.

THis is making me rethink my auction terms .......

I think this problem can be fixed by clicking on the countries that you will ship to rather than just state it in the auction.

Maybe I'm wrong but if you click on U.S. only, it will preclude bidders from outside the U.S. bidding on your auctions.

        Hey,
I read down the posts and someone posted that you can now block any international bidder using the blocking aspect of Ebay. Instead of listing each bidder individually, evidently you can now block by entire country or region. I haven't done that yet because I do sell to foreign bidders (when I rarely sell), but you might look into that as a possibility.
However, I still think Ebay has gotten way to big for their britches.

I didn't know that option actually excludes non US peeps from bidding.

I thought it just tell's them please don't bid.

          Maybe i'll try it ...

I've had no prob shipping internationally for the last few years --- but lately since the new feedback laws kicked in, suddenly many international bidders are winning my auctions and demanding I ship the cheapest way possible..
I refuse to ship without insurance (stated in my auctions) ...

It's becoming too much of a pain to even bother dealing with international bidders ...

I hate to say it, but Canada seems to be my worsts lately.

i always wonder why a seller wouldnt want to sell worldwide, im in the uk and my customers are from italy, germany, france, spain, usa, canada, japan, some others but they are my bread and butter customers that are always regular and never any trouble, if i didnt sell global id be finnished years ago

whats wrong selling to someone in the uk or other?
money is money at the end of the day, sure single out a few places that you know that will be trouble, personally id be most offended if someone wouldnt ship to uk, why ever not? you can get all the tracking you need these days

if someone is happy to pay the cost of the goods and the shipping to that country then whats the problem? if it is because you cant be bothered to write a few extra details down at the shipping office then thats just lazy

at crunch times like this when money is tight im greatful, ill take money in yen, ruble, dollar, canadian dollar... any dollar if it comes down to it

dont be a grinch... sell worldwide

              Here's the deal .......

As a seller, I always protect myself AND my buyers shipping with proper insurance -- which also comes with tracking ...

As a seller in today's world, it's foolish not to.

With today's crazy international shipping prices, i've found 80% of all my international winning bidders wind up paying MORE for the shipping then their actual item.

The poor guy wins a $9.99 item and it's my job to tell him shipping is like $17.00 or more dollars.

I WILL NOT ship it without insurance --- because quite frankly, I don't trust anyone.

              So, what to do ?

Either get hastle from international bidders and BEG them to understand you're not making any money off their price total -- or just exclude them and be done with it ?

I have always shipped overseas and get alot of buyers that way but clearly state that shipping is by Express Mail only which is $35+ ... I do have the occasional winner that wants to negoiate shipping cost after the win but I nip that in the bud real quick... Express mail has worked out great, no more mysterious lost packages (Royal Mail UK especially)... Happy buyers since then!

no dissrespect and im in agreement, i get it like that the other way round

its like when i tell someone its £15 to ship a item large 1 for example, thats double in dollars... it makes it sound like so much more money

but to be honest i always get packages from usa, have done for donkey years of toy dealing, and to be very honest as far as i can remember only since i bought something from this very forum that i have paid actual shipping and in 1 rare case i paid under the estimate

from the rest of my website or ebay deals i always notice i get charged for example $15 and when the goods arrive its like $9 or $12 or in some cases far worse lol

your shipping and "handling" lol has always made me laugh, lots of times a seller would tell me they are charging me there time and effort in packing the item and talking it to the office to send, that 1 always raised a giggle

but yeah i too get folks from u.s saying what they think they should pay lol, if they want to take it up with the mail firm thats fine haha, i have never onced charged for packing materials and never will and as expensive as fuel is here in the uk i wouldnt dream of charging to take the item to the post office

I bet somewhere, someone pays extra for this service. It's a sick, sick, world out there.

I don't live real close to a post office so I do spend money on gas to and from when shipping. Also, there is always a line.

If you ship priority mail domestically, you can print a mailing label right from your computer pay for postage and leave the package in or by your mailbox for pickup.

Unfortunately, you can't do that with international shipments.

then you get international buyers who bid and dont pay because shipping is too high for them when it's listed on the auction!!!
