You've never heard of Sgt Fury and His Howling Commandos?

The only time someone of a different race would bother me if it's with a historical character.

Of course Samuel L. Jackson would look silly as Julius Cesar, lol.

But Samuel in anything based on a FICTIONAL character?

    Of course not.

... I didn't care for Dunken (sp) as The KingPin though.
... I also didn't care for Terry being white in the Spawn Movie,.. after reading 80+ issues of Spawn,.. & the character was Black in the books.

I agree with you about King Pin and Terry. I would have prefered them
to stay true to the comics origin.

Now A WWII Nick Fury being black... well our country was still segregating at the time. Groups like the tuskeegee airmen were just begining to make strides. Would a black man really be a high ranking officer at this time?

Same with a Civil war Jim West/Will Smith

& That right there might very well be why Fury is Black.
I know thats why Justice League Rolled with John Stewart,.. to give the League more so a well rounded ethnic grouping.... Well that & the fact Hal was dead at the time.
