Think Katz makes their own pastrami so they can afford to give generous portions.
At $8.00 lb+ at my local supermarket it doesn't fly out the deli counter

$32 for one pound of Pastrami is very pricey...so when I order mine...don't expect Katz's sized sandwiches from me...mine will be much thinner, I'll make mine last...

Have them throw a couple slices of everything out the window of the plane when they're about halfway between NY and CA. I'll stand outside.Leave a comment:

I do love Clausson's pickles, don't get me wrong. Nothing like Canter's though.Leave a comment:

Hector’s threads often inform you beside the topic. We now know who the pickle connoisseurs are.

Haven't been to Katz's since the 90's --- I gotta go to the city more often
Can't throw a rock without hitting a deli around these parts so i'm pretty satisfied.
BTW, want a great pickle ? .... don't go to a deli ... Just go to your supermarket and buy a jar of Claussen hearty garlic wholes.Leave a comment:

Best pickle I've had in my life is from Canter's. I'd always take home any extras. Only got to go there when I visited a buddy who lived in LA, and haven't been in like 20 years. God I could go for one right now.Leave a comment:

I, not being acquainted with Jewish delis, didn’t know what sour and half-sour pickles were and had to ask. I now know that sour pickles are essentially kosher dill pickles or at least very similar in taste. Either way, they’re a must!
Enjoy your pastrami, rye and mustard, Hec!
