Mikey, I eaten pastrami with mayo...nothing wrong with that...

But for Zatz’s, it’s going to be their Russian dressing and house mustard.

Allright, PNGwynne has softened my heart; you're no longer dead to me, Mikey.

With that extra $50...I’d get TWO Katz’s orders...

There’s suppose to be this killer pastrami sandwich in San Carlos, called The Refuge. It’s 40 minute drive south of San Francisco. It’s kinda famous around these parts...but never been there...

The REFUGE thrives in the towns of San Carlos, CA and San Mateo, CA. Serving hand-carved, meltingly tender, navel pastrami and hosting the most Belgian and craft ales on draught in the Bay Area.

    One of these days...

I'm sad that Carnegie Deli closed down, even if it was mediocre by some accounts - so much iconic stuff keeps going away in what should be iconic towns (Hec, you feel my pain - the 70s/80s Bay Area is a memory, no?)...

On a cole slaw note, there's a place downtown here in a very unassuming location that does some really nice proper Jewish deli stuff, but have a turkey reuben with slaw instead of kraut that is mind-numbingly good. They get dinged on online reviews for how surly they are, but to me that just underscores the authenticity.

Langer’s online store is way more expensive than Katz’s...twice as much in fact...

I’m going to pass on Langer’s...

^ That looks delicious. I'm a big fan of cole slaw on sandwiches.

Man, yet another reason to visit New York. My favorite place to get some killer pastrami here is at Langer’s Delicatessen. They've been clogging up arteries since 1947. #19 is the way to go.

"The original #19 is ready to be shipped to your home! Featuring Langer’s famous pastrami, creamy house-made coleslaw, Russian dressing, tender Swiss cheese and handmade Jewish-style rye bread from nearby Fred’s Bakery, this heaping tribute to old-school Jewish deli traditions is the one sandwich locals recommend as the best in town."

They can afford to serve generous portions because their sandwiches are $20, lol...
