    Wow, awesome!

Isn't amazing how expensive both console and games were, especially back in the 80s?

I had Colecovision, not sure why my parents chose that one. It was pretty cool, but didn't have the popular titles. Zaxxon was fun, though.

Trivia--The Intellevision font is the one I used for the Museum logo. Perfectly retro.

It sure is. Just think we could have had new state of the art systems these days for what we/our parents paid for the stuff that we had back then.

You're right! I just looked it up and Colecovision made Donkey Kong for Intellivision.

Donkey Kong was one of my all time favorite games and I thought for sure I would have purchased it but it looks like it came out around the same time that the Colecovision system was released and that the Intellivision version was so bad that Mattell Execs thought some kind of conspiracy was going on.

Thanks for sharing a fun fact about Intellivision I did not know.

Had the Sears version and the third version. Has anyone checked out Intellivision Lives? Cool site.

I got the Atari before Intellivision came out, so I knew my mom could not make the splurg on a new system (I'm still not sure how was able to get me the Atari). But we use to go the electronics dept at Macy's in the Oxford Valley Mall to play the display model. It always had baseball or football and we'd play for hours. I'm amazed they didn't kick us out for so long.

A couple of years ago, I had an Intellivison PR come to my work and he gave me a joystick that held 10 games in it. I still have it somewhere.

Yep, Coleco released versions of Donkey Kong for Atari and Intellivision as well as for their own Colecovision. Of course, the Colecovision one looked the best. Probably a combination of that being a superior system, and developers being ordered to do a better job on the Coleco system version. The Atari 2600 version looked like complete crap, but it was still fun to play.

I never had an Intellivision, just the 2600. I desparately wanted a Colecovision though (along with the add ons that turned it into the Adam computer).

Here is the pictures of the Donkey Kong cartridge as mentioned earlier. Apparently while I was taking the pictures for the insurance inventory I had to take this cartridge out of the box of the rest of the cartridges as it was covering up the view of the other titles.

Note the orginal Kay Bee price sticker was $29.99 and it was marked down to a whopping .99 WOO HOO Eureka gold at wast I believe that I made mention earlier that the games were marked down to .50 each. Apparently they were marked down to .99 each. My bad.

According to the dollar converter I use to entertain myself (Measuring Worth - Relative Value of US Dollars) an Intellivision today would cost about $629...that's almost a ps3 AND a 360.

Yeah, I have been to that site a time or two. Long times in between visits for me though. It is a good site. I just do not check it out much unless this topic resurfaces and I reminded of it again like I am now. Thanks

Holy smokes!! I do like a good vintage Intellivison game from time to time. However, I do not think that I would be willing to pay $629 for one though. For that price I would buy the PS3 and XBOX360 as you indicated.
