I hated it.

Greasy, by greasy, I mean, the Chicken was literally swimming over a pool of oil. Salty as heck, too much mustard in the batter, and was just downright disgusting. Even the pickles were lame. The only thing decent is that it was really crispy, but that's about it.

Will not be buying it again...

I don't frequent KFC anymore, I was just curious about that chicken.

On a scale of 1-10...it gets a 3, just because it was crispy...that's it...

My wife and I tried it last week...we liked it. BUT, like so many places, KFC quality varies from one location to another.

They don't actually put any of the honey mustard in the batter. It's an oil based sauce they put on the regular chicken when you order it. Same with their Nashville Hot chicken a while back, but for that one they used extra crispy.

I tried it. I thought it was decent. Seems like when the Nashville chicken first appeared, it was more thoroughly coated in the sauce. Now it's just kind of on there...like a swipe of mustard.

I haven't eaten KFC since the 1990s. Mind you, Canadian KFC doesn't do as many whacky or interesting things as the US does, there are a few things I'd have probably tried by now if available here.

It was ok, nothing to make us go back for it again. I find most KFC too greasy, and the sides are so bland it's ridiculous. We go there once in awhile, just long enough in between to forget just how mucu the previous visit wasn't wonderful.

This past summer I had Kentucky Fried Chicken for the first time in a number of years. It was serviceable, but that's it. In my opinion, it's just not very good any longer. Not to sound like an old man, but when I was a kid they had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, green beans and hot rolls, which were very good...and that's it, as far as I can recall. It was simple and they did it very well. Now, it's gimmicky, seems processed and lazy. Heck, they can't even be bothered with calling it Kentucky Fried Chicken. That's too difficult, I suppose. So, they shortened it to KFC. On top of that, half of their "restaurants" are shared with Taco Bell. What is that? Talk about going down hill. That's my two cents on the current state of Kentucky Fried Chicken...your mileage may vary.

That sucks for you guys...KFC around here is incredible. Always hot, fresh, juicy...the mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw are always good. But they are solo restaurants...no sharing with Taco Bell, and no buffet.

"Fast food" franchises, in general, have all gone downhill as far as I can tell. KFC, like all the other fast food places, are guilty of trying to please everyone by expanding their menus instead of concentrating on the core menus that made them successful in the first place. McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's----they are all guilty of the same thing. And, as much as I admire them for attempting to make their food more "healthy," it usually results in removing original elements from their menus and recipes that made their food decent in the first place. I don't think "fast food" was ever meant to be "healthy," per se so much as quick, tasty and convenient. The whole problem became that people started eating it morning, noon and night instead of occasionally or as a quick meal. I would much rather have back the fast food from days of yore and enjoy it in moderation than try to consume the stuff any of the franchises sell these days.

This. Fast food is not intended to be part of your daily intake or even weekly for that matter. Well... you CAN but the results speaks for themselves. High salt, high fat, high processed foods will pay you back ten fold (especially in our demographic). KFC has been pretty good when we've had it as part of a Sunday afternoon eat, but I have noted the increased greasiness of the chicken. Lots could be influencing that though. My departure from consuming that kind of food frequently probably plays a big role in what I detect when I do eat it. Definitely think it was better when I was a kid. Of course Colonel Sanders was alive back then and was fanatical about quality control. I know a number of people, one of which is my cousin, who worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken back in the early 70's and the man himself came in for inspections. He was a tough old dude that frequently cussed out managers for the slightest digressions in preparation. I can only assume if they weren't consistently meeting his standard while he was alive, it's probably well off that original mark today.

It's been awhile since I've had KFC. I love their current advertising campaign though. I tell you where I go when I'm wanting prepared fried chicken is Kroger's or Giant Eagle's. The stuff they fry right there, that's in the deli or produce area. It's usually labeled "picnic chicken" That's been pretty good and not too greasy.

Hmmm, is it really chicken? a lot of things taste like chicken. If I want fried chicken I would go to a restaurant and order it,
something about fast food joints that supposedly sell all natural fresh food in a matter of minutes, greasy fried burgers-chicken-fish
now as a kid it was great, as adults that need to watch what we eat is another story.

Yeah, that was a conscious decision they made a number of years ago: de-emphasizing the word "fried" by shortening the name to KFC, playing down the unhealthy aspects.

Once in a while, I fry my own chicken. I use an old recipe from one of my best friend's late mother...it's a double dip buttermilk Southern fried chicken...took me a while to get it right. The original recipe is fried in lard, yikes, but I changed it up to peanut oil...which is a great frying oil. I mostly use olive oil for all my foods...but it's not recommended for fried chicken...as olive oil is not meant for deep high heat. But sometimes I go a faster route...and just use Dixie Fry for coating...chicken comes out pretty good too...not as awesome as double dip buttermilk...but pretty darn good nevertheless. It's good stuff, I recommend it...especially if you don't want to spend lots of time preparing it...
