“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

Basically anything that makes me think of my Mom can really get to me. I remember watching the Eagles: Hell Freezes Over concert special several times with her and my dad, and she really loved "Help Me Through The Night", which was actually a Joe Walsh song the Eagles backed on originally. The version from the TV special is my favorite, but didn't make it onto the official album release. Since she's passed, it has even more meaning for me.

It's a beautiful song, Chris. Joe's daughter died in an accident when she was a small child and the song is about her. It's like he's singing to her from beyond.Basically anything that makes me think of my Mom can really get to me. Wow, Ian, I don't think I had ever heard that. Puts the song in a different perspective, and in a similar vein to Clapton's Tears in Heaven. It's a beautiful song, Chris. Her name was Emma and she died in a car accident, on her way to nursery school in 1974.
She loved a park, in Northern Boulder, that she would walk to with her mother. She played there nearly every day. On April 1, 1974, her mother was driving her to school when another driving ran a stop sign. Mom lived, but Emma died of massive head injuries. The water fountain in the park (pictured below) was Joe's idea, according to Emma's mother.

Here is a performance of "Help Me Through The Night" when the song was new:

actually, in the liner notes for Stevie nicks greatest hits, she talks about Joe taking here there and telling her he had it built for his little girlHer name was Emma and she died in a car accident, on her way to nursery school in 1974.

^Wow guys, I didn't know about this. I consider myself an Eagles fan, but never really got into their personal lives much. The recent documentary was quite an eye-opener, as was finding out Stevie Nicks aborted a child fathered by Don Henley! I had no idea.
As a father, I can't imagine going through something like Walsh. Just tragic.
