Not really embarassed about this, but I wouldn't necessarily advertise it.
The Carpenters
Glen Campbell
Most of my favorite music was written an recorded in the 70s and 60s, too. Love all of the singer/song writers...with the Beatles (and solo careers), James Taylor and Jackson Browne being some huge favorites. Also, love so many of those 70's bands. Many of them have been mentioned and may haven't.
Steve Perry Journey (Separate Ways - best music video in the history of ever)
Wham!
"If you take a dog which is starving and feed him and make him prosperous, that dog will not bite you. This is the primary difference between a dog and a man."
70s "Bubblegum Pop". I mean the cheesy-crap sold by RHINO Records and K-Tel. Stuff like Bay City Rollers, The Archies, Edison Lighthouse, Vicki Lawrence,....you get the picture. Lord help me, I love it.
As an explanation, my Aunt, who bought every one of my Megos for me, was only 12 years older than me. When she and her friends were teenagers, they would frequently take little 3-5 year old me cruising around with them (this was the early 70s) and this was the music they listened to. The 70s were such a cool time and I have some great memories from when I was a kid.
(By the way, I still have to hear the story about the time little 4-year-old me, filled with Southern Chivalry and Righteousness, yelled at some High School Boys I felt were being quite "un-gentlemen like" toward my Aunt and her friends. I told one of them, "You can go eat a rock, buddy!".)

Life's too short and I have too of high self-esteem for "guilty pleasure" termninology...
I love bands like NEIL DIAMOND, BEE GEES, CARPENTERS, ABBA, etc, etc.

"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
