There are several around us and have that neat diner style look, but never have been. I know it gets joked about like White Castle, but wondered about the food.
I dont get to visit the local Dennys as much as I would like but I get a whole lot of homecooked food, so no complaints here. The menu looks like someplace I would like to visit.
They can vary wildly in quality. When I traveled to Mississippi on business several years back there was one next to my hotel and it was phenomenal. There's several around here, one at a truck stop a couple exits up on the highway, and it's terrible. One in the town where my wife grew up and it's good. A couple between here and Dayton I've stopped at going to shows and such that were decent. It's short order breakfast food, but the prep/cooking isn't idiot proof like other fast food chains, so a lot can depend on the person doing the short order cooking. You can kill bacon or waffles by over or undercooking them, eggs too. The materials may all be the same, but the person prepping and cooking them aren't. Overall I'd say it's worth a shot, but there some risk involved because of variance in quality.

WAFFLE HOUSE's around here (in the Louisville, KY/Jeffersonville, IN area) are largely a crapshoot. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But when it's bad----it's really, really, REALLY bad. I went to one once out of desperation for wanting some late-night breakfast food and the waffles were thin and limp and the breakfast meats looked like they had been around for a really long time. Denny's, on the other hand, their new pancakes are awesome!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
