    Ironman soars in sophomore weekend!

Box Office mojo reports Iron man made $50.5 million in it's second weekend out (A drop of less than 50%). Excellent news for Marvel and a sure bet Iron man will pass the $300 million mark domestically. It's only fitting that we point out that the wreck left behind in Ironman's dust is owned by Speed Racer. A horrid first weekend gross of $20 million (and perhaps an inflated estimate at this point) will surely have Warner Bros. hoping for better news overseas. For a film that cost $120 million to make, plus marketing costs, this is a certified bomb.

Word of mouth has carryed Ironman thru. I think there won't be much fall off this week either. The movie is just so darn good as in well writen, and didn't move to far from the original story.

Speed Racer may be the flop of the year. The fact it made 20 mil probably goes to show just how many true fans there are for this. I loved SR and I could not bring myself to go see this. The trailers looked horrible to me. I'm sure they'll make some more $$ here in the states, and probably even more overseas, but they'll lose $$ overall. Too bad. I was looking forward to seeing it, before I saw the trailers. Maybe I'll rent it when it comes out.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

My five year old and I saw it on Friday, he luckily needed bathroom breaks during some of the early terrorist scenes (thank you, orange soda) but both he and I were blown away by the film. It's weird to hear my son hum sabbath as I put him to bed.

I went to see it today and took all my 3 boys, my husband, even my mom. We all loved it, and stayed behind after the credits to see what the fuss was about. My mom was VERY excited about the part after the credits.

Don't think any of us would be interested in Speed Racer

Went to see Iron Man again today. My son went with his school buddy on a sleepover opening night, I went by myself the next night. He missed the after credit scene and didn't pick up on the Mandarin hints (which I am surprised about, as he is comic-boy). So we decided to watch it together. I liked it more the second time around. Great comic film...
