I'm dying....it's 85 degrees in my office. There's no air conditioning and my boss won't put any in. It's like spending eight hours in hell.

My office is too cold. Even if its hot outside I have to wear hoodies or flannel to stay warm.Comment

i work out of my house, other than when I am out on the road inspecting claims, so I keep the thermostat at 73-74 in summer, 65 or so in winterComment

we may be sharing this crummy summer oven with you, but our winters don't compare with yours.
my friend jimmy, whom i was visiting when i was out there, tells me it is 40 below there sometimes.Comment

I sit a foot away from a box fan with sweat literally pouring off me.Comment

My place has odd air circulation. My wing is usually cooler than the rest - maybe 72 or 73 - but the rest creeps higher. I'm usually comfortable in a polo, Dockers or linen pants, and loafers (no socks). Some of my skinnier coworkers pull out a blanket year-round.Comment

Yeah, this has been a crazy hot, dry summer in Canada from Manitoba to the Maritimes, and we aren't done yet. I've barely been outside for nearly a month, the humidity kills me.Comment

For many years in the 90s I worked in a Seattle U-District barber shop with no back door. The fan in the restroom had burned out long before I started working there. The owner had this weird concept of physics that was along the WB cartoon style. He put fans all over the barber shop, and all it did was blow the hair into the hot air and move it around.
Once we took up a collection to buy an AC unit. It was placed above the door. It never cooled the shop down. One day I asked another barber why it didn't work? He told me, there is no place for the air to go without an outlet.
Second owner making a joke, asks if we barbers want to go in on an AC unit. I said yes only if he cut a hole in the back of the shops roof and installed a vent fan. Second owner installed the vent fan and replaced the one in the restroom, and added AC. Never had a problem with the heat there again.Comment
