Yes! I'm a huge fan of the artwork for this film, and is the main reason why I collect '76 Kong merchandise. I had the advance version of the poster (the one that says "King Kong for Christmas") hanging in my room for much of my childhood, which is probably why I'm so nostalgic toward it. I still have it but it is really worn and torn at this point. I should probably try to find a nice condition one that I can hang up.

I was just at a horror convention this past weekend and saw plenty of posters I would have liked to own, if I only had the wall space. I was half considering picking up a "Cannibal Holocaust" poster I saw there, but it was a bit out of my price range. Probably a good thing, it is really offensive and the wife would have hated it!

I just love looking at old movie posters, no matter whether the movie is worth a crap or not. If I had room, I'd hang all of these up in my house!

I recently got this repro of Curse of the Werewolf poster, one of my favorite Hammer flicks. I haven't had a chance to hang it up yet...but soon.

If I could own only one classic Universal Monster poster, it would probably one of these two, just for the design of them. I know Kirk Hammett owns originals, per his awesome book:

A lot of really beautiful stuff mentioned here already. I haven't ventured into poster territory yet, but I have been collecting lobby cards for the last few years. Not full sets, just ones that I like. The other day I picked up a few from Hollywood Canteen in Toronto, a Hammer Abominable Snowman, a Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, and one from Videodrome. I like to get them signed when I can, one of my favorites is this Queen of Blood card that John Saxon signed. Pictured is the card itself, not the one I have signed. http://d1g4sq00ps2bp3.cloudfront.net...nt/22755_8.jpg

Hollywood Canteen was set-up at Shock-Stock this past weekend. Cjefferys and I went through a bunch of their cool posters and bins of lobby cards. They generally have some great deals. Amazing selection of stuff.

                  I would love this one:

but I'm holding out for one drawn by Frazetta that we saw at the Frazetta Museum a couple of years ago.

                  I like this one too

Is that second Tarzan poster Richard Corben?
Also, how was shock stock? Did you give Dyanne Thorne a peck on the cheek?

                      You and me both sir!

Hey, have you heard anything more from Frank junior regarding possible prints of his dad's Bo Derek painting? I'm not sure how seriously he took us when we asked him about it at the museum, but I would definitely buy one!

Definitely not Corben, there is a signature but I can't make it out.

*sigh* Dyanne didn't make it to the show, apparently she fell off a horse the day before and the airline wouldn't let her on the plane. Too bad, the poster dealers had plenty of Ilsa merchandise and I definitely would have bought a poster or lobby card for her to sign. Between that, Doyle (Misfits guitarist) cancelling his planned Q&A and the high admission price considering the size of the show, it was a bit disappointing. Had a lot of fun hanging out with Mr. Noir though.

Oh well. I've been going to the Nerdfest aka Fanexpo for many, many years now with a good friend. It's not the comic book scores or the celebs we meet that make these events special. It just comes down to hanging out with a good friend and having fun (and occasional shenanigans). I think the idea that these big events bring folks together on a larger scale might be mistaken. But they definitely brings us closer to our friends, new and old.

Yep, I agree with that! But I might be done with Fanexpo, I used to regularly attend (before I had actually met anyone on this board) but it's so crowded and expensive these days, think I'll stick to smaller shows. Hey, you should try to make it to Mego North in Burlington this fall!

If anyone near central Ohio is looking to add to his/her collection, this is a good weekend for it. Cinevent is in town:

"Dealers fill over a hundred tables full of film, video, sound recordings, posters, stills, lobby cards, books, autographs...everything imaginable associated with film."
