Tom Hiddleston the next Bond?

Hiddleston would be good... but I agree he could stand to put on a few pounds of muscle for the role.

I don't think Jackman and Bale are too old but I think Sony would disagree. I suspect that someone under forty will be cast with the possible intention of locking them into a long term deal.

That's an interesting idea for Bond, but he is so iconic as the weasel Loki, I'm not sure I can reconcile seeing him so debonair as Bond. That's a pretty big shift in portrayals, but I see the rationale for looking his way. He certainly has screen presence.

Yes, of course, the single TV broadcast, a possible consideration amongst many, and an almost.

Personally I would have loved to have seen Gavin in the role, Brolin not so much.

Now...back to the world renowned and beloved motion picture franchise that actually exists.

Bale is the same age now when Brosnan took over Bond, and Jackman is only three years older.

What's the the bigger sell for MGM? A Dark Knight reteam or starring Wolverine? That's a nice marketing problem to have.

I think Tom Ellis could pull it off with very little effort. From the general concensus list, I would pick Fassbender. Just for kicks, would be fun to see some pearl clutching in response to the appointment of an American actor to the role...Liev Schreiber, perhaps...

I notice in that article most of the speculation about Hiddleston was because he had a meeting with the producers. That's hardly proof he's going to the next Bond. Adam West and Lewis Collins both had meetings with the producers and I don't remember either of them playing the part.

I do think people like Jackman and Bale are probley out of the running due to their age.

And she's right. He'd be really good at it. I'd like to see a more suave and less "blunt instrument" Bond.

Bale, Jackman or Hiddleston could do it. Brosnan wasn't any bigger, and he worked.

agreed. I hope they continue the story line they have established with Craig.

how old is Jackman now? I would think too old to start in the franchise at this point. they will want someone they can use for at least a decade, if not 15 years. Bale might be out for the same reason

Henry Cavill is on record as wanting to play Bond. Hugh Jackman has also expressed interest in the part. Christian Bale is interesting idea. I like Tom Hiddleston but I'm not sure about him as Bond but I suspect he could surprise me. No thank you to Tom Hardy.

If and when we get a new James Bond I up they don't start again with an origin story.
