I've never tried one, they sound kind of horrifying actually. It doesn't look like something I'd like so I've been scared to eat one since I was a kid. If I got one for Halloween it went in the garbage.
God yes, those are like eating pure sugar!Leave a comment:

Loved Hostess Chips as a kid... I miss those.
Joe Louis were awesome, too.
I remember Big Turk well... they were pretty good.
I've recently been picking up Marvel, Transformers , Ninja Turtles and now Star Wars Kinder Eggs.

Oh man, I love Hostess Hickory Sticks! I like a lot of the President's Choice flavors of chips (especially Buffalo Wing and Blue Cheese!) but although I like ketchup chips, the Loads of Ketchup is way too much overkill!
I know that FDA doesn't allow Kinder Surprise eggs to be sold in the US due to that reason, but honestly I don't see how it would be possible. The toy is inside a hard, difficult to open plastic shell that is way too big for a kid to accidentally swallow. I was buying these for my son when he was two years old and never had a fear of him swallowing the toy, I just don't see how it could even happen.Leave a comment:

We've had ketchup potato chips here but they never caught on. Nestle tried to do something similar to the Kinder Surprise. Didn't work out because I heard a kid ate the entire candy with the toy inside.Leave a comment:

I had no idea some of those were exclusive to Canada. The Flake bar I've seen only at Bulk Barn and I've never heard of Toffee Crisp though.Leave a comment:

As a kid in Canada, I always thought our junk food and candy was inferior because it wasn't advertised in comic books or on TV. The first few times I took a trip across the border I always stopped at a 7 eleven and loaded up on US candy (and cigarettes when I smoked). Clark bars, Payday bars, etc. I did notice some different flavors from the ones I was used to, but I wasn't blown away after a few trips. The spell was broken, but there is still some mystique lingering in my mind when I look at some of the old comics and see those ads.
As for Canadian candy, Big Turk has got to be one of the weirdest ones going.Leave a comment:
