I thought about it, but the narrow base would look a bit awkward on top of the grill...too much free space on the bottom sides...
Hey, of you want to do Superman, think of the image as a silhouette, waist-up shot of Clark Kent looking up, classically pulling his shirt open, with the glasses and the negative space of the "S" as the cut-outs. Here's a quick hack of the concept:
But I really like the T-rex concept -- I'd try a more dynamic pose, and maybe make it look like he's eating from a pile of triceratops . . . love the T-rex/meat juxtaposition for the grill!
I like both of your choices, but I'd prefer South Park. It seems "user friendly", and it's a bit more subtle. It has personality, but you have to look a little closer to get it. And kids, from all ages, will love it.
