I do believe OPEC is still in control. The U.S. is twisting some arms here and there but I don't suspect that many of the Shieks in the oil rich countries will deal with much arm twisting.

I also heard about the rice and corn shortages and some of it being blamed on ethanol. I heard that Costco doubled the price of rice and placed restrictions on the amount of rice you could buy.

I think the tax on a gallon of gas is almost $.50 a gallon. The government really should suspend the tax for a while or release some of the national oil reserve into the public to try to help.

I only have a 10 mile commute to work each way but am really starting to cut down on running errands and try to consolidate trips to save on gas.

I'm looking at it like this ........

The whole world views the USA as a "bad country" lately ....

We are the world's Spaceballs (the way they view us)

Well, let's start acting like it ....

"cause what you got is what we need, and all we do is dirty deeds, we're the Spaceballs--watch out !!"

Our Congressmen aren't complaining about fuel costs because we as tax payers pay for the vehicle they drive and the fuel it uses.Around here, most of our city officials and county officers drive supplied vehicles to and from work.Perks of the job I guess.Sucks to be the common guy.

I wonder if they have some gunners positions opening up?

Its gonna get worse before it gets better. When the oil bubble pops a lot of speculators are gonna be jumping out the windows.

I've read the bubble could pop as early as June with Oil dropping down to 70-80 dollars a barrel.

I think everybody should just quit their jobs (or find one across the street where you live) and just stay home. Ok, if you really really really need to do things like eat or pay bills, rent etc...then just take the car to and from work. No sidetrips! Hit them where it hurts and don't buy gas.

It works for me! I've haven't had to fill up my tank in about 3 weeks now and I still got half a tank. The savings go right into my mego collecting. (This also serves as my National Diet Plan because we are all overweight anyway and they don't let you walk to the drive-thru window.)

Oh and regular gas is 3.89 here. They want it $4.00 by Memorial Day weekend.

Most of our oil does not come from that region. Canada and South America supply the bulk of our oil

What I'd like to know is what was Al Gore doing when he was Veep to make sure this wouldn't happen? I thought he was suppose to be a friend of the Earth? Maybe because when he was in the White House,he wouldn't get an Nobel or Oscar if he did anything. All kidding of course.

I really don't care who's responsible, they just need to do something about it. They can suspend the tax.

Petrol over here in the UK is £1.08 to £1.12 a litre and Diesel is £1.22 a litre.
A few haulage contractors sent a little coffin with a petition in to our Prime Minister for the escalating fuel rises which are killing their business's

I think we pay 73% tax on are fuel too sheer madness

but i think we should all boycott and stop buying it, that would cause something to happen...it's like with the whole ebay thing...everyone complains and started that boycott awhile back, but no one wants to do it for 3 bucks and up gas..it's insane..lol...
