How do you feel about flying the friendly skies?

I don't fly very often, and I'm glad I don't have to. Hate the airports, hate TSA, hate layovers, hate being cooped up and out of control 36,000 feet up. It's not that I have an overt fear of flying, (I fully appreciate how statistically safe it is), it's just that I don't enjoy the experience. I have to fly cross country later this week, and I'm just gonna be annoyed (and vaguely nervous) the next few days having to deal with it..

So when's the last time you've flown? Who likes it? Who hates it?

I love it. I guess I find it exciting in some way even though I've flown a lot over the years. Last time was a 3 days trip to Chicago last Nov. My most scary time was taking a plane from Oahu to Maui. Even through is was a large plane when it came in to land the trade winds between the islands really had the plane tittering from side to side. Once we landed I watched other planes come in and they were all doing that. I was telling the guy at the car rental stand about it and he explained it to me and said it was just normal.

I take the train whenever it's four hours or less.

I don't like flying and only do it when there is no other option. we always drive the 1200 miles to Disney World in Florida. I would rather drive 24 hours straight than have to deal with going through all the security check points and BS you have to deal with. I know if is for our own safety but I makes me crazy. Last time I flew was to go to Europe in 2013 and it was a major hassle, but we did not have driving options there, LOL

I take a 12-13 hour flight to Japan every year and dread it (love it once I'm there though). That is such a long flight to be cooped up in such a small space. You can only read and watch movies for so long, and I cannot sleep on a plane no matter how hard I try. The only upside is that Air Canada serves free alcohol on international flights, it's numbs the pain a tiny bit...

Oh man that is a killer flight!!!! When I went there I left out of Seattle into Narita airport. It's a long time in the air! I can't remember how long the airtime was from Dallas into Honolulu but it wasn't fun either.

My father worked for airlines most of his life, from the time he was 16, washing small airplanes that were rented for charter (times were different then!). I took my first flight was I was three months old, and at least two or three times a year until I was 21 (yes, employees and their families would fly for 'free' - actually a small service charge - but we were also the first to be bumped, last to board, almost never got meals as we're not 'counted' as passengers, often can't sit together, and until recently had to wear a jacket and tie - even as children - while other passengers were wearing t-shirts and flip-flops). In my adult life I occasionally fly for work and vacation if it's more than a couple day's drive (never outside the US, my longest flight is coast-to-coast). A few months ago I realized if I never fly again that's fine with me. The masses of people treated like herds of livestock; cramped; uncomfortable seating; rude employees; and often even ruder passengers are just too much for me now.

I hate flying commercial airlines...fear of heights, claustrophobia, damn small are seats, always people I usually end up hating, uneducated power trip TSA employees, always thinking about the plane nose diving or head on collisions, landing gear malfunctioning, etc...

Yes, I hate flying in passenger planes.

Having said that, I'd gladly hop in with a Navy pilot, take off from an aircraft carrier, and off we go in his F-18 Hornet.

                    Strange, eh?

I'd go up into space to...

More dangerous than an airliner...but a whole different purpose to it...

                      Hate Airbus jets

The builders must think everybody is 100 pounds and 5 feet tall.

Gimme a Boeing anyday --- or even a DC

Note to US airlines, buy American !!!

BTW, best and nicest airline I ever flew ------- Allegro Airlines

Planes were a little old but the flightcrew were SUPER-nice

I get sick in planes and my husband will NOT get into a commercial airliner. However, this is what my front yard looks like on most days,...

The hometown airport by me had this old pilot named "Wild Bill"

He used to give half hour fun rides for $20.00

He had Pipers, Cessnas and even a Bell copter.

Man, it was fun -- I must have road in everything he had multiple times.
