The first direct deposit checks will begin on Monday, while the paper checks will start on May 9.
I plan on filling up my gas tank two or three times.

When I completed my taxes with Turbo Tax, I think it calculated what my stimulus check would be. I didn't even bother to look because I had assumed it was going to be over $2000 I can't remember the breakdown for married with 3 kids but just recently found out there was some type of phaseout so now I should go back and look.
I really didn't have anything in mind to do with it but there probably won't be much :("The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

If ya go irs.gov , there is a calculator to get your amount figure.
Mine was what they pretty much estimated...$1200 for married filing jointly and $600 for the two kids.
They also have a chart showing direct deposit dates....those all look to end on May 16th, which is where our social security numbers fall into.
plus, it is NOT taxable for 2008 as found in their FAQs.Comment
