^ I've wondered about that, too. There are some wonderful animated versions of Oscar Wilde's fairy tales (The Selfish Giant, The Happy Prince) that aren't on DVD either.

I would also highly recommend the Finnish film, Rare Exports. Do yourself a favor and look it up. It's expensive on blu-ray now, and is sort of rare as the title suggests. It falls under the category of Christmas horror, but it is a beautifully photographed and whimsically made film.
I won't post the trailer, because it spoils too much.
Just watch it. You won't be disappointed.Comment

There is a Finnish film from 2007 called "Christmas Story" that is a really good origin of Santa Claus film that's worth checking out. It's become one of my favorite newer Christmas films.
