    Least Favourite Christmas Movie?

For me it's Jingle all the Way, saw it on a plane and considered getting off early. The comedy teaming of Arnold and Sinbad is just ....no. It's weird to see it now brought up as a classic by people 10-15 years younger than me....

Never really thought to consider Gremlins a Christmas movie...

My girlfriend loved that movie. the Turboman toy actually brings great money online ($150-200) I'm sure you appreciate the irony that a fake toy from a movie plot got into production as an actual figure. As far as worse, most Christmas movies are made for tv movies and thread water equally.

              Babes in Toyland 1961

I remember always confusing this movie with March of the Wooden Soldiers.

I would see Babes in the TV guide got all ready for some March and then was totally let down.

I'll probably get trampled for this but...

                It's A Wonderful Life.

I think it's overly sentimental, sappy and depressing all at the same time, and the ending isn't satisfying because Potter never gets his comeuppance. He keeps the $8,000 and gets off scot-free with it.

You aren't alone. I saw it once and thought "this is the movie people gush over?" blah.

That's the thing! My wife is younger and she INSISTS we watch it every year. Makes me crazy. It's impossible for Phil Hartman not to amuse me a small amount, but as a whole it's not even bad enough to be fun to watch.

It's my dad's favourite, he puts it on every year, I'm not a big fan either.

That's another reason I dislike it so much, they waste Hartman. The funniest guy in the movie has a lame part.

You guys probably know this, but "It's a Wonderful Life" was panned and forgotten when it was first released - the reason it's considered a classic is because it fell into the public domain and TV stations used it every Christmas as cheap time-filler. Eventually more people knew it and started liking it because it was familiar.

Personally, I really enjoy the movie. I think the performances have a rare combination of camp silliness and sincerity that really gets to me.

Rats! I can't watch the clip in my region, but I know that one well. Great sketch! To me, that's the golden era of SNL.
