By no means is Jingle all the Way a "classic", but it's a cable-worthy "I'll stop and watch this because it's on" flick. Arnold's fairly decent.

For me, Christmas Vacation is probably my least favorite Xmas movie and even more than European Vacation, gave the entire franchise a black eye.

Then I guess you're not a Silent Night Deadly Night fan.

I'll just say this.... THE Holiday movie for the Hedji family this year is Krampus. Cannot wait for this one.

            That's a pretty safe bet.

That movie was so forbidden to us as kids in our family, because of all the outrage. Over the years, the curiosity got the better of me, and I watched it for the first time last year. It's really pretty tame compared to most movies made today... it's just, well, you know... a guy in a Santa Suit.

It of course wasn't the first of it's kind, preceded by the more psychologically robust Christmas Evil.

Never seen Silent Night Deadly Night until a few months ago when it was played on cable.

It was camp, but not in a good way like Reanimator.

SNDN tried too hard to be a cult classic while it was still fresh out of the package.

The second one (Part II) is more what you were looking for. It recaps the highlights of the first, then progresses (?) into pure camp.

Not a fan of The Santa Clause...I mean, really Tim Allen gets the ultimate dream job by accidentally killing Santa? That part gets glossed over fast doesn't it?
Worst though for me is the abominable Grinch movie...how they could turn one of the best Christmas cartoons into such a stinker eludes me.
Oh, almost forgot the creepy Disney Jim Carrey Christmas Carol and Polar Express with it's weird realistic cartoon people.

^THIS. Yes, I'd blotted that Grinch movie out of my memory. And while Creepy works okay for Christmas Carol, it really works against Polar Express, a soul-less film with forced emotion.

People are overlooking another Tim Allen movie. Christmas with the Kranks.

I'm gonna' go with A Christmas Story. Never seen it, but every time I see this kid's stupid face, I want to give him a good open hand smack.

You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

A Christmas Story for me to. I've never seen it as well and don't get what all the fuss and merchandizing is all about.

^ Love every second of it, and did so before it was hip. Jean Shepherd's wry take on nostalgia is genius IMO. I like his writing, too, though--so I admit bias.

As for films I hate, the live-action Grinch tops my list, egad it's awful. Not crazy about Allen's Clause flicks either.
