Poor grammer doesn't necessarily bother me. If a person doesn't get the concept of the rules of grammer, that at least can be overlooked due to their possibly not understanding them. People usually fall into two categories...those that are exceptional in grammer and those that are exceptional in math. I for one cannot do math without the use of a calculator or at least my fingers. I can basically count, do simple addition and subtraction. Anything beyond that and it might take me some time to work it out. I have no number retention whatsoever.

But people who purposely talk in slang just for the sake of talking in slang is another issue altogether. If you plan on having a conversation with me, please talk to me in plain English because I may not be current on the latest verbal trends. That way I can understand what you are talking about and I don't have to guess as to what you are trying to say and save us both a lot of time.

This reminds me of that scene in "Airplane" where June Cleavor says to the stewardess: "Miss I speak Jive" and begins to translate the two guys speaking in "jive" (while the English subtitles scroll on the screen).

"Needs fix" or any other phrase missing the "to be" drives me nuts. I don't hear that much here in NJ but in PA, I just have to roll my eyes.

Most people here cannot say a sentence without "like" in it.

Obviously you wouldn't understand it, but you should hear me talk with friends, we totally rape the Dutch language with our dialect
It's so bad that almost only people from our province can actually understand us

What language do you actually speak (everyday in life) Thomas ?

You REALLY have the English language mastered.

When you post, it's like reading everyone's posts..
Many times I forget you're from Belgium-- because you speak and write English so well.

I'm curious as to why multiple people are spelling the word that is an account of the
morphology and syntax of the way that sentences of a language are constructed,
the way that the main starring actor in the sitcom FRASIER spells his last name,
instead of with a second "a"

Don't feel bad, I've seen the same thing done in many, many internet forum conversations. I always find it amusing.
