Frankenberry vs. Froot Loops vs Fruity Pebbles

Currently, of the three I prefer Fruity Pebbles; but since someone mentioned Trix. . . It has the fruit tastes I like. There's lemon and orange in every bite. Unfortunately, Trix are for kids.
In the 70s I would have said FrankenBerry hands down. But I recently went down memory lane and bought a box and could not finish it. It left such a terrible aftertaste that I couldn't bring myself to eat a second bowl.Leave a comment:

YES! When the first Smurf movie came out a few years ago, one side of the box was VERY similar to the classic Smurfberry Crunch packaging. Unfortunately, the cereal inside tasted more like Gargamel's socks. My favorite fruit flavored cereal was Smurfberry Crunch.
I must've eaten 100 boxes of that stuff as a kid.

For me it was Fruit Loops, bigger, better taste and variety, Pebbles a close second, Frank Berry
so-so, not really a fruity type cereal, just one flavor but I didn't hate it.
Three cereals and three different cereal companies too, Kellogs, Post, General Mills.Leave a comment:

Fruity Pebbles all the way. I still enjoy a bowl of that every now and then, even though I'm really more of a Cocoa Pebbles type of guy. After that, Fruit Loops are pretty good. They were never one of my favorite cereals, but a might buy a box every now and then if it is on sale. FrankenBerry, on the other hand, I really don't like at all. Maybe if I could go back in time and grab an original recipe box from the 1970s I might feel differently. But the 21st century versions of the monster cereals just aren't very good, imho.Leave a comment:

Pebbles, then Loops, then FrankenBerry. I like the taste of the Frankenberry cereal, but I hate those damn little marshmallows.

Just going off long-ago memory, they are all magical in their own way, but Froot Loops falls a bit because, in many ways, FL are a rougher take on Pebbles (and, as HG mentioned---Trix).Leave a comment:

Most definitely Fruity Pebbles. But you forgot Trix in this comparison. And they changed the formula of Frankenberry from the 70s. It's just not the same.Leave a comment:

fruity pebbles then fruit loops, no frankenberry for me, never did like cereal with marshmallows.Leave a comment:

I havent had them in ages. Two reasons: wife does the grocery shopping and no sugar cereals allowed, and second is that I usually shop at Safeway as it is on the way home from work, and they are like $6 a box! So, based on my childhood and teen memories, I will need to go with Froot LoopsLeave a comment:

Well that's fine and good Mr Rockefeller, but my question was more for the common man who doesn't buy fresh fruit on a regular basis

None of those...I always hated artificially flavored fruity type cereals.
But you give me plain corn flakes with actual sliced bananas, strawberries...or blueberries, then we'll get along just fine, lol.Leave a comment:
