Do you like wine ?

Was talking to a friend about wine and got some interesting insights.

She said depending where your family came from effects if you like wine or not.

I said my family is Eastern European

She said it's no surprise I don't like wine (preferring beer and hard liquor)

Now that I think about it the whole community where I grew up were mostly Germans, Poles, Ukrainians and Russians and I can't remember anybody ever drinking wine.

What do you think ?

Do you like wine and do you think a portion of your taste comes from way back in your gene pool ?

I don't know about that. I am of German decent. my fathers family comes from a big wine area in Bavaria. I only drink beer. my wife is German/Irish/Polish and a few other things, and she mostly drinks wine, but she does like beer too, especially the German beers I always have on hand

my sister, does not drink beer at all, only wine.
my other sister does not drink beer at all, only mixed drinks.

I like wine, but I'm of British and Irish descent (so that means I like beer and whisky too!). I guess my taste for wine might be due to living near a large wine producing region, there are tons of wineries nearby.

I'm of German/Irish but my family were always teetotalers. I however like a good red wine, or German beer (Oberdorfer) or a good Irish whisky with a nice cube or two. Bushmills was always my favorite.

Red with a meal these days, that's about it for me. White keeps me up.

Most Polish folks i've ever met were Beer/vodka types.

Half my family is German, wine and beer mainly although my Grandmother believed in medicinal drinking. The other half is Scottish and that meant sobriety.

Once in a while, I'll have a glass of red. It is best with a meal.

I'm really not much of a wine drinker. Back in the day when I was married, my ex and I used to pick up some Boones Farm when we were camping, but that's pretty much it. I rarely drink, but when I do, it's Bailey's and Coke.

I prefer beer...but occasional merlot, cabarnet sauvignon, and pinot noir...can hit the spot too.

I'm allergic to alcohol.
Belgium has hundreds of types of beer.
Somebody up there hates me....
