When I drive through the Golden Gate, you always get a sense of awe and history...and while old...it's still a wonder of engineering. It also had spectacular views from both sides, every angle in fact. I don't drive through it often...maybe once or twice a year...as it connects San Francisco and Marin county, away from Oakland. It really stands out with its famous orange paint.
The Bay Bridge...I drove through that thing for over 20 years from Oakland to San Francisco for both and school everyday...and unlike the Golden Gate...driving through the Bay Bridge feels more like work than fun, it's just more boring to me...it's just a bridge from point A to point B to me...while the Golden Gate is more like a fun trip...a cool weekend outing. Traffic can get pretty horrendous, especially on certain hours.
Both both are definitely great bridges...just different meaning and experiences for me.
