    ^I find WWII fascinating also.
It's hard to imagine what it was like to have to live through those times. I do enjoy watching WWII documentaries but sometimes they're difficult to sit through.

WW II has huge nostalgia. I bet WW II plane model building alone dwarfs our little community.
Although not technically a war I have flashbulb memories of the 9/11 Twin Tower attacks. For the only time I felt like I was watching something historically significant on television.

Perhaps if you re type it...something like...which war interests you reading about...that places you in the historical gathering category...more scholarly.

For example...anything from ancient times fascinates me...Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Ghengis Khan, stuff like that...nothing wrong with having a keen interest in reading about that. Same applies to modern warfare.

Just take out "favorite", and you'll be alright...
true, I love reading about the Trojan war as well

The war that interests me the most is World War II. All aspects of it. However, I tend to focus on America's involvement in it, for obvious reasons. Not only do I read about it and consume as many documentaries regarding it as I can, I collect some U.S. jackets, shirts, hats, American Red Cross made for soldiers pieces (knitted by the Red Cross ladies), and some U.S. equipment such as backpacks and satchels.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, contrary to what you've just seen, war is neither glamorous nor fun. There are no winners, only losers. There are no good wars, with the following exceptions: The American Revolution, World War II and the Star Wars trilogy. If you'd like to learn more about war, there are lots of books in your library with cool, gory pictures. Well, good night, everybody. Peace, man."

I've always had an interest in military history. From the battles of the ancient world all the way up to around WW2. Just love studying the tactics, troop movements, events of the battles, etc.

Even more possible if you weren't here posting about it and bringing it up.

The war of 1302, the Battle of the Golden Spurs.
A group of Belgian peasants annihilated a French army who thought they'd just walz over a bunch of dumb farmers and take their land.
The French had a whole cavalry, the peasants just pitchforks and shovels. They were led by, ironically, a butcher. The peasants ate a lot of horse meat that evening, and collected the golden spurs of fallen French officers.
