    What's your favorite war ?

...... Yea, I agree --- that title doesn't look as good as it sounded in my head

Anyway, most guys usually have a favorite war... if I have to explain any further you'll probably never understand

    Mine's easily WW2

    What about you ?

    Star Wars.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

And then there's the kind of people who'll never understand why/how quickly a thread like this could get "political"---which I wouldn't mind----but the "powers that be" would. With respect to you, Mike (and the rest of the MM), I'll leave it at that, rather than writing anything else, and ensuring this thread's deletion.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

War is ugly, but the UK is destined for the one I have in mind. That is all I'm saying.

I think posting "favorite" war comes across as someone enjoying it.

Perhaps if you re type it...something like...which war interests you reading about...that places you in the historical gathering category...more scholarly.

For example...anything from ancient times fascinates me...Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Ghengis Khan, stuff like that...nothing wrong with having a keen interest in reading about that. Same applies to modern warfare.

Just take out "favorite", and you'll be alright...

Maybe I'm naïve, but I think it's possible to be interested in history, including military history, without ipso facto politicizing that interest. Anyway, ...

POTOS vs. MM. Is that too political, or merely impolitic?

yeah, the phrasing is a little tough. I have always been fascinated by WWII. to say favorite about something so heinous would be a real tragedy. but in terms of history, the war that I find most interesting is WWII.
