I woke up incredibly early that day, probably around 6 a.m. and turned on the television with a tape ready in the vcr (Betamax!) I didn't tape the whole thing, just bits and pieces I was interested in. Clearly remember watching Status Quo, Ultravox, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Madonna, U2, Queen and others.....later that afternoon/early evening I went to the carnival down the street at St. Francis school, and then went over to my grandmother's house and watched the last couple hours of the show. I left the carnival early so I could get back in time to see Zeppelin, and being pretty underwhelmed when I saw it and kinda wishing I'd stayed at the carnival, LOL. I ran into some buddies from school and we were excited about the Black Sabbath performance, hoping that they'd stay reunited.

I was 18 going on 19 and a month and a half out of high school. Recorded ABC's 3 hour primetime Live Aid special hosted by Dick Clark. Wish I still had that recording. Received MTV's full coverage on VHS in 1992 but I no longer have that, either. Remember going to several stores with my parents that day and every store we went into had either KCPQ channel 13(currently FOX) or MTV tuned in on their display of TV's.
