Just woke uo to this. I just watched Towering Inferno the other day and gotta say he was definitely iconic. He absolutely over-acted but it clearly worked for him. He may have never got an official Mego in his likeness, but he seemed to have a pretty good life. Let the customs pics commence!

Like it was said earlier, this is another sign we are all getting older when the Movie Stars we knew as kids start dying of old age.

It's seldom that I get really bummed when I see actors die off, but this morning I was very sad. All the roles he stared in flashed through my mind. In reality he left us several years ago though. RIP

I am very Sad.....He was an awesome actor in a hell of alot of good movies.

Regardless of what I think of his politics, he starred in my absolute favorite film of all time, POTA. For this and his other roles, I will always appreciate him and his contributions.

RIP indeed to a pretty darn good actor. In one of my favorite movies ever--"Touch of Evil"--where he played a Mexican of all things!

He was an ICON of icons . . . . I particularly liked him in Gray Lady Down.
Better still, the statement by his family speaks more of who he was than what we make of him.

Regardless that I believe in much of his politics, he was a great actor. I guess he has been ailing a while. He did leave a good, long life.

I didn't chime in about his politics but since some are, I just want to be counted as one that today, share most of his political views. But even when I was younger and went through a Liberal phase, I couldn't bring myself to dislike Chuck.
