The car i got now is the coolest i have owned, its a Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider.
It came with a wide arch kit and loads of engine modifications, its only a 1400 cc but kicks out 200 bhp (a rocket ship)
There was only 1000 made in this model, there are only about 300 left on the road.

Don't get rear ended ..... or was that only the 74-76's (when i was little my parents first new cars after they were married were his and her's pintos a brown wood panel wagon for dad and a babl blue hatchback for Mom)I got you all beat. And it's not one I owned... It's one I OWN!
1977 Pinto. 25,000 original miles. Purrs like a kitten. Outstanding gas mileage. What more can you say!
we were rear ended about 8 months before the recall and my grandfather told Mom it was a deathtrap get rid of it. of course he was rightLeave a comment:

I have a hard time narowing it down to one.
I have had half a dozen Karmann Ghias that I restored (mostly stock body/interior and some engine improvements) and loved.
I restored a Ford Fairlane 500 that was beautiful and kept 100% original.
I loved my 83 'stang HO 5.0 5sp T-Tops and a 363 rear end - 0-60 REALLY fast
My 69 Eldorado with an 8 liter V-8 was definitely fun.
Maybe the best is my 83 Olds Delta 88 that I did custom paint on to pay homage to the 60's batmobile. I drove the car for 11 years and got for more it than I paid for it.
My current fun car - NONE -perhaps next summer.Last edited by Brue; Sep 17, '09, 1:14 PM.Leave a comment:

Nice car!
When I was growinng up there was an old timer that used to take me fishing, and all he ever drove were Pinto's. Through the 70's and 80's when one would die, he would replace it with another one. Spennt a lot of time in them, underratedd car IMO.Leave a comment:

Starsky I just love your Black Beauty. But it's your S&H Torino I am the most fond of. I have considered buying a ragged out Torino to restore. But then I look at my current project - a 1985 RS Capri that needs some attention to the rust on the lower interior door panels and I think twice. Considering investing in this product called "Rust Doctor" to just try and stop the rusting process and go ahead and get her painted black, but I'm not sure if it will work. But I digress...Anyway great looking cars Starsky!

I still have a soft spot in my heart for my frist car (1979 Pontiac catalina ) but it wasn't a cool car. When i got out of the army I bought my first brand new car a 1996 Thunderbird - still driving it everyday today 175000 miles later. I waffled over that and a transam for weeks before i chose the bird (of course now it has 2 kids car seats in back). Doesn't turn any heads (they're too common) but I love it.
I wanted to have a WOW car A couple months ago I bought a S&H replica torino on ebay motors but the seller ripped me off (rebuilt salvage car sold as a clear title) at least I only put 2500 out but it's still annoying looking at it every morning.Last edited by jds1911a1; Sep 17, '09, 10:58 AM.Leave a comment:

Jumpin' F*****G Jehosaphat! The Black Beauty!!!!
The BB is one of the coolest cars ever, right up there with the Batmobile. That even looks like a 1966 Chrysler! It bloody well looks like the real deal... You didn't used to / still sell boats did you???
I especially like the machine guns up front. Very handy in the rush hour!
