    YOUR WIVES AND GFs

OKAY..so what does your wife/ girl friend/ significant other think about your MEGO hobby (obsession)....

My lady seems to be okay with it...she knows I like to collect stuff...although I think deep down she'd LOVE to open up my Mego Rubbermaid bin and let our toddler go to town.....

I don't gamble, go to strip clubs, drink at bars, smoke cigerettes (4 yrs. w/o one), do drugs, etc so she's pretty understanding that collecting toys is what I do. I try to get her collecting things as well, but lately she's been on a "Hello Kitty" kick. Now our kitchen has a Hello Kitty waffle maker, sandwich maker, juicer, popcorn maker, toaster, etc and I can't say a darn thing because I encouraged it.

She is really cool about it, ala I don't get carried away. The display must be kept under control and in a spare room, but I can deal with that no problem. She even bid on that Kresge Spiderman last week. We were winning at $1025.00 right up until the last 7 seconds, when to her relief and my slight but expected disappointment it shot up to $2200.00... That would have been it for toys for a long time.

Her favorites are the Hulk and Conan. I don't have a Conan yet but she may get me one. I hope.

Well..... "Hello Kitty" is preferable to the consequence of "Good-bye Kitty".

My wife knows I have a passion for it so she tolerates it. My wife is great! I'm not sure how I got soo lucky.

My wife loves my collection. When she was a kid she had aquaman and Isis, so she had Megos as a kid. In fact my loose Isis is wearing the dress of my wifes childhood Isis.

She also like to rearrange my Megos from time to time to put them in different poses,

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

my wife puts up with it as long as i don't let it get crazy all over the place. i have to keep stuff in boxes and keep it neat. but that just helps me stay organized anyhow. she appreciates the art of it, so that's all i can ask.

My wife knew what she was getting into before she married me so she can't complain too much. She tolerates it (much like one may tolerate a confused, eccentric but well-meaning old aunt, perhaps), as long as I keep everything in my office/toyroom and don't blow our son's college fund on toys, she accepts one of my few vices, God love her.

I could care less what my girlfriend at the time thinks of my Mego collecting...that's why I'm not married (among many other issues besides Megos of course)...I answer to no one.

The last girlfriend hated anything Star Trek, Star Wars, comic books, Megos, and even my cars...she wanted me to sell everything, take a loan from my house, and buy a brand new BMW, lol.

                        Crazy loon, lol.

To this day, I have NO idea why she hooked up with me in the first place. I ain't exactly Antonio Banderas...must've been my awesome wit, deadly charm, and tremendous personality, lol.

That's why all my relationships are mostly short-lived...I'm too much of a rebel, and I'm fine with that.

I do not think that my girl friend has a total appreciation for the hobby like I do although she seems to be fine with it. She primarily collects Barbies and Coca Cola so I do not have to worry about her messing with my Mego's. So long as I keep momma happy everyone is happy.
