1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback, Poppy Red ext, black int, standard 4, stock body & wheels with some original options: front disc brakes, full length console, rally pac, etc. Previous owner dropped in a 1969 Windsor Boss 302 w/4 barrel. I put around 120,000 miles on that car before selling it for about 3x the amount I paid for it.
Don't know for sure what total mileage was when I sold it since the odometer was only 5 digits (+ 1/10 cylinder). It was at about 63K when I bought it, and I wrapped it around to about 86K. I have no idea if the 63K when I bought it was total original miles, if it had already wrapped once, or if it was zeroed out when the engine was replaced. All I know is that stallion served me well with very low maintenance.
I wish I had the space to store it at the time, instead of opting to sell it. Every time I see one out & about, I have a tug of regret.Leave a comment:

Back in the day (early 70's) one of my older sisters used to let me practice driving on her AMC Javelin.
I still remember having to sit on a pillow so I can see over the dash
Bet that car is worth a few bucks todayLeave a comment:

1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. It had been my parents' car, and they gave it to me. My sister had driven it too. My dad bought it used, and someone had painted it this non-standard bronze color. Car companies now call a very similar color "tangerine".
I got rear-ended by a full-size, then new pick-up truck. It totalled both vehicles, and that was the end of that family car's solid decade with us. Sigh.

1972 Chevy Chevelle Malibu. It was my brother's car, I took it over when I was a senior in HS in 1987 and he left college to do a tour in the Navy.
I only drove it for a few months, then something serious happened to the engine. It never got fixed, and was put into storage for more than 20 years.
We sold it a few yrs back, here's a pic of it after I washed it off after all those yrs of storage..

I bought my first car when I was 19. I'll never forget the payment. $210.00 a month for four years. 1984 Mercury Capri (purchased in the fall of '83). 5.0, FBHP Holly. It roared. I forgot how many Cameros I left in the dust during that time. They had bigger motors but were heavier cars. They couldn't stay with me. Fun times, if not idiotic now that I look back on it. I would kill my kids if they acted like me.
That moved me to my second car which was a 1984 Ford Mustang SVO. 4 wheel disc brakes, turbo, intercooled..... I've had 4 SVO's total over the years, love those cars!Leave a comment:
