My first car was a '75 Dodge Dart Sport. Had a 225 Slant-6 engine, and Starsky and Hutch era stripes on the side. It was '82 when I got it, and I drove it from the end of HS through college and my first year working. It collapsed on the road when the frame broke in half. Good times!

'88 Mercury Cougar. It broke down a lot but it also gave me a million stories. I do miss it.

I bought my first car when I was 19. I'll never forget the payment. $210.00 a month for four years. 1984 Mercury Capri (purchased in the fall of '83). 5.0, FBHP Holly. It roared. I forgot how many Cameros I left in the dust during that time. They had bigger motors but were heavier cars. They couldn't stay with me. Fun times, if not idiotic now that I look back on it. I would kill my kids if they acted like me.

I believe mine was a Sebring as well, now that you mention it. It was white. I was always into Firebirds. Had about 8-10 TAs, and 2 Camaros. One of my Camaros was a 67 RS/SS. Wish I still had that one. Had a 72 Vette 350 with a 60 overbore, which I blew up. When I sold it they chopped it up to fix 2 other 67s. My sub-frame lives on in my best friends fully restored 67 RS. If I only knew what that would be worth today! I probably would spend the money on toys and comics anyway.

My dad gave me his 1967 AMC Marlin shortly after my high school graduation. Four years later...some old couple driving their Sherman tank...sideswiped my ride while parked...and totaled the car...I did get money from their insurance company...and bought me a 1978 Datsun 280Z...but I sure missed my Marlin.

This is what it looked like...same exact color scheme too...V8, four speed...

I had 2 first cars, too. My ex purchased a 1975 Toyota Corolla for my to learn to drive. Well, it didn't happen. When we broke up, (the first time), he sold the car out from under me, b/c it was registered in his name. After we got back together, we bought another car for me, a 1980 VW Rabbit Custom (automatic). That one I did learn to drive, and it was registered in MY name. I sold the car myself following our divorce. It needed work and it would have cost too much to keep. I haven't driven since then. (1992)
