Flashback: Favorite canned drink of the 70s: Hi-C or Hawaiian Punch?

Remember when some of our favorite drinks came in super large cans? The kind you had to use that can "hole punch" to open? Which was your favorite back in the day? And what flavor?

Even though I drank Hawaiian Punch, we were mostly a Hi-C family. My mom even bought the lunch sized cans for my bag lunches at school. My faves were grape, berry and peach.

    Which brand did you like?

Hi-C. I still kinda miss Ecto Cooler.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

HP was a treat, mixed with 7-UP was awesome.

              We usually had Kool-Aid.

OK, now you've got me missing the green Hi-C. However, thanks to the miracle that is the Web, it took me only a few minutes to find a recipe. I might be trying this tonight.

Neither, Mom wouldn't buy 'em. We were Koolaid all the way, cherry, grape, & the weird root beer kind. Mrs. Somebody's...

I should say though, that we did drink Hawaiian Punch sometimes. When I finally got a hand me down lunchbox (Bobby Sherman) and a plain red thermos to go in it, I used to make the powdered strawberry Hawaiian Punch for my thermos (of course made sickening sweet! ). Also a friend of mine gave me a Hawaiian Punch Birthday kit when I was 10, and it had Punchy decorations, a plastic tablecloth, and lots of coupons for Hawaiian Punch. With a few bags of chips, and some boxes of cookies, my mom let me have a party w/ some of my friends. (But I still like Hi-C better! )

Yeah, that's right - we did Wyler's & Funny Face, in addition to Kool Aid.

Loved Hi-C in those big cans, back then. We always had some in the fridge. I liked a few of the flavors. One that I really like was the Peach Hi-C.
