Really wish I hadn't missed the anniversary show. I've got the app and am catching up with the highlights. Glad they paid homage to those who have passed. I think its great that Roseanne Roseannadanna and Matt Foley were played (though not as well as Radner and Farley) instead of left in the past.

Best episode of the season, and the sketch above was my favorite. I know Fred Armisen isn't everyone's cup of tea. I usually like him in whatever he's doing. Bummed that they didn't bust out a Prince Show, since Maya Rudolph was in the house, but I get it.Comment

I taped it because I wanted to see the musical guest, watched the majority of it because I like Armisen, better than expected.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I thought it was a great episode too! I'm actually a big fan of the current cast, I love that they take crazy chances with weird ideas that don't always land, but having Armisen on the show just anchored the whole episode perfectly.
Also, his monologue totally reminded me of the classic, older monologues. I think they overuse the gimmick of bringing in other cast members to interrupt the host. Granted, not every host has the chops to hold an audience's attention for as long as Armisen.
Maya Rudolph's appearance was unreal. She's so funny she might actually kill me one day. I cannot wait for Maya & Marty.
Courtney Barnett was fantastic too. Overall, the whole episode reminded me of classic SNL.Comment

That monologue? Really?
If he would have actually done something with the bulk of the monologue, like what he did putting the audience member on the spot at 5:13, then I would have laughed more than once... not into his whole "subtle comedy" bit... rather watch Bill Murray or Christopher Guest take a stab at that tone."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
