"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

Subdivision sales just outside of the closest small town; a rare treat for those of us who live in the sticks. Not much as far as old things, but still a nice pile of stuff for around $30, especially with the stained glass piece.

I did quite well again this past weekend. An old, rich neighborhood had a neighborhood wide sale.
For $8, I found a 14k antique gold ring, two brooches made by famous designers, and a vintage railroad lantern.
I am taking the ring to get it appraised Wednesday. It weighs a ton. Someone asked me how I could find a ring like this and buy it from someone not knowing what it is. I told them it was not like the ring was in a giant pile of junk jewelry and them not knowing it was there. This thing was in a ziplock bag by itself with a $1 price tag on it. I don't feel guilty what so ever. These people live in a million dollar home, their loss.
The brooches are worth $200-$300 each, made by Mariam Haskell and Schreiner
The lantern is made by Pocko of New York, worth about $100

Just got the above ring cleaned, weighed, and appraised. It is 11.51 grams with a Citrine stone, and it appraised for $2200. The jeweler said I should get around $800 for it (40% of appraisal).
Come to find out the brooch made by Miriam Haskell is quite rare and may bring upwards of $1000. I am still thinking $200-$300. (brooch on the right in above photo)sigpicComment
