Wow! When i was looking thru the pics I was like some of these Teens look familiar. Anyways I used to Hang out at the "Walt Whitman Mall Route 110 in Huntington NY. Long Island. I spent many friday & Saturday nights hanging at the mall in the 80's. Smithhaven I only hung out when my friends & I got bored and took the bus to Smithhaven mall for a change.

The mall was a good hang out back then. My stops were: Kb toys, Bdalton, Camelot music, Timeout arcade, and various game stores. I would occasionally visit Radioshack to gaze at the computers, software, and other electronic oddities.

Most of the old mall I visited has been revamped into different things now. I've heard that they are just to expensive to rent space and utilities in. If indoor malls continue to decline I expect that Sears will finally completely merge with Kmart.

Some of the best Toy Stores ever during this era. ....here in Edmonton,Alberta,Canada...we had TOYS AND WHEELS ,TOPS and TOYS,TOY CITY(although similar to Tru it went bye bye fast ) and another unique store was Hans Christian Toys ..this store carried many Euro type toys...but alas their all gone
Dept stores had Great Toy Dept. Also...Woolco had an awesome selection as did the The Hudson BAY and EATONS

        GREAT TIMES ....sadly missed !!
        if it AIN'T a toy..I DON'T WANT IT !!!

That made me laugh. And, that's why I thought it had to be a mall on the east coast.

Mmm, getting sick from Orange Julius hotdogs make's me nostalgically sad.

Going into Spencer Gifts and seeing all their overpriced garbage -- including the section that has mostly penis related novelties.

Oh, Holiday time ----- let's not forget Hickory Farms and their $1000.00 cheese boxes

The snotty Rock and Roll Concert T-shirt guy that won't go down a buck even if you buy multiple shirts.

The Chinese culture/headshop guy with $65.00 glass hashpipes (actual value about $3.99)

Going into Walden Books to look at "nude photography" books

Getting SuperBalls from the gumball machine just to whip them down the mall.

            Good times

^ Great post, Mikey! I find myself very nostalgic for much of that, as well.

I was looking for the "Like" button!

I miss the KBs type of toy stores some malls had. You had KBs of course, then you sometimes had a second toy store that was almost KBs but not quite,if that makes any sense.

Yes it makes perfect sense. My malls that I went to always had 2 toy stores not to mention all the other stores that sold toys. That's one thing I really miss is the majic of going into a toy store or any other store at the mall that sold toys back then and never knowing what you could find.
Same with music stores. I could go into any given mall back then and at least find 2 good music stores if not 3. Now there are none which is something I never thought I would say...
