It wasn't an easy decision, but I've decided to sell off my entire collection. This has been a long time coming...I've been in my new house for a year now, and I'm no closer to completing my toy room than when I started. The problem is I simply have too much stuff. I am just so overwhelmed by it all that I don't even know where to start. The worst part is, my interests are so varied it's hard for me not to buy more.
The solution I came up with is to really get back to my artistic roots and focus on plastic model building. I have several kits at various stages of completion, and dozens more in storage. There are plastic model kits both new and vintage covering almost every comic, TV and movie subject there is, so I can still collect all the different things I like. Many of you have seen me post my work here. I've been building models off and on professionally for over 20 years and have won several awards.
It just feels like the right thing to do at this point. It really hit me while working on the new 66 Batman kit. I'm much happier with my version than any of the toys that have been produced, because I could make it the way I wanted to. In the end, I think it'll be a lot cooler to have a collection of figures I built and painted myself...I'm sure all you customizers out there can appreciate that.
Look for me to be listing a TON of Megos and vintage super hero toys in the marketplace in the coming weeks. I hope I'll be able to fill the holes in many of your collections. I'm not going anywhere though...you guys are family. I'll still be hanging around here talking toys and all that good stuff...not to mention posting my models and paintings.
