I'm a DSE Dedicated Support Engineer, for a large technology company.

In other words, I'm like the Maytag repairman. I sit around and wait for stuff to break.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

Currently finishing my first year of "Corrections and Police Foundations". Worked retail and hospitality industry for years and it wore me out as I hated it, well being supervisor in a record store was fun, free c.d.'s and lots of cute girls to work with. , Hopefully after next year I will be working in a Federal Corrections facility.

I think many jobs do exactly this. LMAO

I'm a postman and have been for 11 years now. It's very convenient for me as I am usually home for lunchtime which gives me the opportunity to look after my two children during the afternoons and keeps childcare costs to the absoloute minimum. I consider myself very lucky to be able to spend so much time with the kids. Some dads I know get in from work and half an hour later their kids are in bed.

I left school and trained in building construction and design and qualified as an Architectural Technician. By the time I was 26 I had had enough of working for people who wanted to mould me into the next little robot worker, and I didn't really enjoy the management side of building construction which I was moving slowly into. I also struggled to get my head around computer aided design, my skill was with a draughtmans pen.

I enjoy been a postman although it can be very physical work. My round means I walk seven miles a day with eight loaded bags of mail each weighing around 12 kilos.

Like most people I have days when I hate it. This year I intend to take some courses in Mountainbike Leadership which hopefully may lead me on to better things.

Funnily enough Royal Mail does that to you too.

My degree work was in Ancient and Medieval History, with minors in Dark Ages Literature, Latin, and Greek. So nauturally you will not be surprised to learn that I work as a Software Release Manager for a Technology Company.

Since 1999 I've been employed for CCH Incorporated which produces Tax and Accounting software for Tax professionals. In the last few years our company has gone global with our software development, and I have worked on projects for Mexico, Canada, Australia, and the U.K. I spend almost a quarter of my month each month on the road, which begins to wear after a while. The Museum is nice slice of home while I'm on the road though.

CAD Technician or Computer Draftsman - take your pick. I worked for CH2M Hill for over 16 years drawing waste water treatment plants and such until I was laid off on 2005. Then I found a job drawing very high-end houses for an architect - until I was laid off again last year. Now I work for another architectual firm but drawing schools and stadiums instead of houses. Been here 8 months.

I retired from the US Navy in 1995 after serving 21 years as a military policeman (master-at-arms CPO E-7) and then worked in the casino security field in Las Vegas, NV for about 12 years. Now I'm a security training specialist for a large hospital here in Albuquerque NM. We have a 35 officer security dept. and very busy. Hoping to retire again soon and move back to Arizona to my in-laws 280 acre ranch and provide a place for inner city kids to come and ride horses and experience the "old west". Yee-haw podners!!!

                          Hmmmm....

At the moment I sort of work as a banker in a Casino. (We keep getting our hours cut, and in a month or two I suspect I'll be getting the boot altogether.)

I run a distribution center for a tea company with stores in Boston MA and Providence RI. http://www.tealuxe.com is the web site for those interested. Been here since 2000. Before that I did a similar job for 14 years for the largest privately owned tool & hardware distributor in the Northeast. We serviced from Buffalo NY down to Maryland and Home Depot came along and crushed all the stores we sold to and then Lowe's finished off the rest and they folded after 86 years in business. This place does about 1/35th of the sales as my last job but I'm in charge and the parent company (an investment firm) doesn't bother me ever. Of course they could walk in at any time and say "hey we sold the company" or "hey we're shutting the doors have a nice day!". We're only 1/10th of a percent of the portfolio the company holds. We're like a butt pimple, as long as we're not a problem they just ignore us. Hopefully they'll ignore us for at least 6 more years until my daughter graduates.
