If all you know of David Lynch is the first iteration of Twin Peaks, then you ain't gonna like the new one. This is deep, deep Lynch territory.

If you don't like Lost Highway/Mullholland Dr. era Lynch, then you're not going to like the show. It is NOT the kitschy Twin Peaks from the nineties. My wife and I loved it. I'm watching part three right now, and the beginning is actually more akin to his early shorts. I mean, he's going all the WAY back with his images and style here. If you belonged to his website in the early 2000s you can sense some of that stuff here, too.

I anticipate there will a LOT of disappointed people.

I also pretty much love that the CGI stuff is super cheesy!

Yeah, watching 1 & 2 right now, and it's weird, weird, weird! Episodes 3 & 4 are available OnDemand, but will "air" next Sunday, and then a new episode every week after that through the beginning of September.

I'm watching via Showtime Anytime, and it looks like the first four eps are available now, with the next four to be released later in June.

Tonight's two-hour premiere had a special screening in L.A. a couple nites ago, and altho there are no "reviews" allowed to come out of it, here are some comments that I've seen:

As a longtime fan of Twin Peaks, I was initially nervous this revival would pull an X-Files and function as simple nostalgia fuel while being… not great. But two hours later, a stunned crowd left the theater with the distinct feeling that David Lynch had gotten away with something. Whatever your expectations are, they will not be met — and that’s a good thing. Based on the first two hours, it’s safe to say Twin Peaks‘ 18 difficult new episodes will rattle, baffle, and enrage, and that’s exactly what TV needs right now.

The first two episodes alternate between cryptic, terrifying, and hilarious. There was as much laughter as there were gasps.

Though advertised as a “new season” of Twin Peaks, these episodes felt more like a revival of ALL of David Lynch’s work. Parts of it felt very Blue Velvet and Lost Highway, with some imagery from Eraserhead mixed in.

Watch Starz American Gods...it makes Twin Peaks look like the Brady Bunch, lol...

Trust me, just finished this evening's 'side. Yeah, its weirdness is totally off the f**king charts, but two shows in I'm still enjoying the hell out if it. Who'd'a thunk Gillian Anderson could make Lucille Ball that damn hot!
