I'm not surprised at all. Scary indeed! I'm sure more cities will follow very soon.

Come on John, no need to fret. The CDC already worked out a cure when they brought the first two back.

Now drink your kool aide and breath deeply. Everything is going to be fine. Just fine.

        Yeah, it's not looking good.

I can't understand why they don't restrict air travel.
It's like everyone has the right to spread lethal diseases all over the globe.
If, for whatever reason, you are in an infected area, stay there until it's been wiped out.

              ^ I agree, but I think that it's unlikely.

It was fast. The government spokespeople said "the chances of it getting into the U.S. are very remote". They said that just over a week ago!! ugh.

Every few years it's something different

Some other virus that might attack the US

For me it goes in one ear and out the other.

That speech the chief of the CDC gave earlier this week reminded me of the speech every head of the CDC gives in every zombie outbreak movie about twenty minutes in, right before everything turns really bad.

That is a funny thing. Then I realized it's real.

Long story, short: the government doesn't want to offend anyone. Right now, the President of Liberia is more concerned about inhibiting the spread of Ebola to the States than our own politicians. In fact, if Duncan survives, the Liberians are going after him legally. I'm glad they are, too--he lied to them.

That makes too much sense and assumes you actually care about others.

                            1st U.S.fatality:

The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States died Wednesday morning in a Dallas hospital Wednesday, a hospital spokesman said.
Thomas Eric Duncan was pronounced dead at 7:51 a.m. at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where he was admitted Sept. 28 and has been kept in isolation, according to spokesman Wendell Watson.
Duncan's condition was changed on Saturday from serious to critical.
Duncan carried the deadly virus with him from his home in Liberia, though he showed no signs when he left for the United States. He arrived in Dallas Sept. 20 and fell sick a few days later.

                              Ok
So now who thinks this is not a major problem?
The nurse got it from him, traveled around and might have spread it to her boyfriend and others....*** is the cdc doing? The head of the CDC said maybe they should have locked everything down....no kidding ? you dont say!
It now has a 70 percent kill rate...up from 50 just weeks ago.
The head in the sand methods are not going to work well with this.......
