That was a great read. Somehow I managed to avoid injury at the hands of my fellow jart throwers, but I have been flung from a carousel a few times in my life.

Yep, and playing bump-de-bumps on the see-saw, (when kids on each end flew up at least a foot), and jumping from the swings, and playing chicken w/ Big Wheels and bikes, and sharing a can of soda w/ your friend meant drinking it off each other and didn't wipe the germs off, being blood brothers (and sisters).....man, these kids are totally sissy-fied today!

#6 got me to thinking. How many times would your parents just drop you off in the toy aisle of a department store while they shopped elsewhere? For me,it was almost every time we went and I'm still here.

I can related to everyone of those!

Maybe it was better to be raised that way (minus the second hand smoke...all over the place).

We even had ropes when I was a kid to climb trees etc with. I remember having a hand saw and my friends and myself using hammers and nails (building junk) when we were well below 10 years of age. I could probably go on and on.

I dont know what happens in the states, its not got like that here in Poland, but in England its just crazy. A couple of years ago some kid got hurt in some public playground, next thing U know, its in the papers, laws being changed , the whole country being scrutinized if their playgrounds are safe, all because of one kid Crap happens, end of story.

I remember having these really tall swing sets in the school play ground with the seats that wrapped around your butt. The floor of the playground was black top. You could get really high in the air on these swings, once you got going (above the 10 foot chain linked fence...it was behind the swing set and fenced in the play ground). Well, when recess ended some of the kids would jump right off of the swings in top flight. I don't remember any of them getting hurt, though I'm sure that they could have been killed...lol
